Despite sleep health being critically important for athlete performance and well-being, in marathoners is understudied. This foundational study explored relations between health, individual characteristics, lifestyle factors, marathon completion time. Data were obtained from the 2016 London Marathon participants. Participants completed Athlete Sleep Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ) along with a brief survey capturing characteristics factors. focused on ASSQ difficulty score (SDS) its components. Participation in marathons has dramatically increased over the last few years. Marathon running many proven beneficial effects, especially on cardiovascular health and fitness. Most research focused physiologic pathophysiologic adaptations connection with endurance exercise. Nevertheless, marathon also a major impact psychological aspects positively influences mental health, which only recently attracted interest. The present narrative review aimed to personality traits of runners an emphasis recent literature. show distinct highly characteristic needed successfully finish such demanding race, i.e., strong sense vigor, self-sufficiency, intelligence as well low scores anger, fatigue, tension, depression. It is well known that elite athletes of specific ethnicities and/or nationalities dominate certain sports disciplines (e.g., East Africans in marathon running). However, we do not know the fastest non-professional IRONMAN triathletes. Therefore, this study intended to identify by country origin competing triathlon events, focusing on age group Data from all worldwide between 2002 and 2022 official races were collected. Sex, group, athletes, location year event, split times, overall race transition times obtained. Additionally, dataset was augmented with data (i.e. event characteristics such as temperatures for water air course three disciplines) related different locations. We limited analysis top 150 countries participation at least 13 successful finishers records sample). A total 677,320 triathletes originating participating 443 over 65 locations analyzed. European Germany, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Czechia, Estonia, Slovenia have athletes. Hawaii, Vitoria-Gasteiz Hamburg are races. Hilly running cycling courses led slower while flat surfaces, rolling ocean swimming faster times. Optimal found 23–25 °C optimal temperature ranged 19–21 25–28 °C. The Slovenia. Introduction Antarctic expeditions present exceptional physiological and mental challenges. Research data are lacking on psychological aspects of such endeavours. The aim our study is to provide changes in mood, well-being, personality traits personal experiences during an Antarctica crossing. Methods This a 33-year-old female British Army officer (height 175 cm; weight 75 kg; body mass index 24.49 kg/m 2 ; VO 2max 49 mL/kg/min) who completed the longest, solo, unsupported, one-way polar ski expedition. expedition started at Hercules Inlet finished Ross Ice Shelf, lasting 70 days 16 hours covering 1484.53 km, with temperatures estimating from −12°C −50°C wind speeds up 60 miles per hour. adventurer pulled all equipment nutrition pulk (sled), weighing approximately 120 kg. Five psychometric questionnaires were pre post expedition, including International Personality Item Pool – Neuroticism, Extraversion Openness-60, Brief Assessment Mood, Positive Negative Affective Schedule, Profile Mood States, Wellness questionnaire, as well unstructured open questionnaire. Results generally deteriorated, particularly positive affective mood. Scores for fatigue muscle soreness increased, reduction sleep times. openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness remained stable throughout some extraversion increase neuroticism. Personal accounts give unique insight into increasing demands physical impact Conclusions Meticulous preparation planning may have led successful preparation, prior on-field experience, preparedness resiliance. Some these strategies be applicable range settings, future expeditions, extreme environments, or missions within military context.

Individual prevention strategies implemented at office may not be as effective predominantly target individuals who already aware interested care. Instead, developing targeted primary accessible venues, such stands, villages, food supply points, could more effective.
