In recent years, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) has gained significant attention due to its efficient use of time. Studies have shown that engaging in regular physical activity can effectively reduce symptoms anxiety. Given the potential side effects and limitations associated with pharmacological treatments for anxiety disorders, there is a growing interest exploring non-pharmacological interventions. HIIT, as an alternative approach, offers promising avenue managing without relying on medication. However, specific efficacy applicability HIIT individuals diagnosed disorders not been systematically summarized literature. This scoping review aims explore effectiveness intervention improving symptoms, well range applicability, by synthesizing existing research. A methodology was employed search databases including PubMed, Web Science, EMbase, Cochrane Library. were selected based predefined criteria: randomized controlled trials (RCTs), cohort studies, quasi-experimental designs focusing improvement anxiety, using primary intervention. Exclusion criteria included studies mixed interventions or populations comorbid conditions. Two independent evaluators screened titles, abstracts, full texts, extracted data pre-tested form, resolved discrepancies through discussion ensure consistency accuracy. total 541 articles identified, which 16 met inclusion this review. Skeletal muscle exhibits remarkable plasticity in response to diverse stimuli, with exercise serving as a potent trigger. Varied modalities, including moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) and high-intensity interval (HIIT), induce distinct structural functional adaptations on skeletal muscle. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms governing these remain poorly understood. In this study, we utilized RNA-seq characterize transcriptomic profile of murine gastrocnemius following 8-week treadmill-based MICT (M group) HIIT (H group). A total 1052 DEGs were screened H vs. M. Among top 10 significant DEGs, Foxo1 Myod1 are closely related muscular physiology. Through KEGG pathway analysis, primarily identified FoxO, MAPK, PI3K-AKT pathways. By analyzing expression myokines, significantly higher Igf-1 level was observed M group compared group. Therefore, IGF-1, well-known upstream regulator both PI3K-AKT-FoxO MAPK pathways, might drive through variations induced by two modalities.

Background: Lower limb aerobic exercise is the core component of pulmonary rehabilitation for chronic obstructive disease (COPD) patients. The optimal intensity and type (e.g., interval or continuous) training remains to be determined. Objectives: We aimed evaluate intensities types lower in patients with COPD. Design: Systematic review network meta-analysis randomized controlled trials. Data sources methods: PubMed, Web Science, Embase, Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials were searched relevant data. interventions classified according their as high-intensity (HIIT), continuous (HICT), moderate-intensity (MICT), low-intensity (LICT). assessed capacity using peak work rate (Wpeak) 6-min walking test (6-MWT). Lung function was evaluated by measuring minute ventilation (VE) percentage predicted FEV 1 (FEV pred%). Dyspnea Modified Medical Research Council (mMRC) scale. Quality life measured Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire (CRQ). Results: Fifteen studies identified (979 subjects). HIIT showed greatest improvement Wpeak, 6-MWT, VE, mMRC compared usual care (MD 18.48 (95% CI 12.35, 24.60), 67.73 (34.89, 100.57), 6.26 (2.81, 9.72), −0.53 (−0.89, −0.17), respectively) CRQ 10.80 1.65, 19.95)). MICT Wpeak 6-MWT 18.28 11.20, 25.22), 61.92 (28.34, 95.51)) similar HICT 16.08 8.19, 23.84), 64.64 (28.70, 100.57)) highest 10.83 1.68, 19.98)). LICT significantly improved 13.47 4.77, 22.13)). quality evidence outcomes varied from very low moderate. Conclusion: might approaches exhibited limited clinical efficacy. While effective MICT, it caused more dyspnea. Trial registration: This systematic prospectively registered PROSPERO (No. CRD 42024520134).

Abstract Background Endurance exercise intensities can be categorized into moderate, heavy, and severe domains based on physiological responses during incremental testing. Since the evaluation of metabolic thresholds is not always possible, this study assessed accuracy fixed intensity anchors to estimate lactate thresholds. Methods 165 (64 females, 101 males) recreational runners performed a maximal treadmill test. The first (LT1) second (LT2) were determined as percentages maximum heart rate (HR), oxygen consumption (VO 2 ), running speed, alongside rating perceived exertion (RPE). Sex-specific mean values used determine threshold analyze error magnitude for each method. Results Females had higher relative HR, VO , speed at LT1 compared males ( p < 0.001). In pooled data, absolute estimating varied from 0.6 0.8 km/h 4.9–7.4 bpm while LT2 errors ranged 0.4 2.8–5.2 bpm, respectively. speed-derived estimations yielded smallest magnitudes, RPE-derived least accurate. Estimating increased respective 1.0 8.4 LT1, 1.1 6.7 LT2. Conclusion occurred in suggesting need sex-specific anchors. estimates most accurate, but estimation impaired prediction accuracy. Thus, optimal method also depends availability values.
