In the contemporary digital age, need for parental mediation interventions are highlighted in literature. However, little is known about how parents experience those interventions. Grounded self-determination theory of motivation and wellbeing, this study explores impact strength-based coaching regulating media use children aged 8–11. Five UK-based participated individually three online sessions. Through Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis data coming from semi-structured interviews, four key themes emerged: increased self-awareness; a shift perspective, emotional state behaviour; stronger parent–child bonds; improved coping strategies. The indicates may inform an autonomy-supportive parenting style which contributes to effective child screen regulation.

Social media usage among adolescents has significantly increased in recent years, playing a crucial role contemporary youth culture. Background: Despite the numerous benefits of Internet use, improper utilization may produce many psychological illnesses, such as Addiction (IA). Young people are considered a vulnerable population for IA. Purpose: The current study is conducted to determine prevalence IA among youth in Jordan. Methods: This employed cross-sectional descriptive approach. final sample consisted 405 Jordanian young people. researchers recruited participants from two universities and four schools located at different regions utilized self-report questionnaire composed sections; Basic Information Questionnaire, Use Patterns Test, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Assessment. Ethical principles nursing research were adhered to. was during second semester 2023/2024 academic year. Descriptive inferential statistics used data analysis. Results: results revealed that about one third (n= 121, 29.9%) met criteria There variability regarding their online activities, where social media main activity (66.4 %). also reported there positive association between anxiety (r = 0.66; p 0.001). Conclusion: From viewpoint, this adds understanding international literature. To mitigate negative effects IA, stakeholders must work together interdisciplinarily with concerted effort. Sosyal medyanın yaygınlaşması ile özellikle gençlerin sosyal medyada platformlarında geçirdikleri zamanını etkin şekilde planlayamaması beraberinde bağımlılığa zemin hazırlayan sorunlara neden olmaktadır. Bu noktada aile dinamikleri ve arkadaş ilişkileri, medya kullanım alışkanlıklarını bağımlılık düzeylerini belirleyen kritik unsurlar arasında yer almaktadır. Literatür taraması, desteği, iletişim biçimleri arkadaşlık ilişkilerinin bağımlılığı üzerindeki etkilerini ortaya koymaktadır. Aile içindeki sağlıklı destekleyici ortamlar, kullanımını olumlu yönde etkileyerek riskini azaltmaktadır. Aynı zamanda, güçlü ilişkileri kurabilen medyadaki etkileşimlerini daha dengeli bir yönlendirdikleri ifade edilmektedir. Araştırmalar, bağımlılığının ergenlik dönemindeki kimlik gelişimi beceriler üzerinde olumsuz etkiler yaratabileceğini göstermektedir. bağlamda, kullanımı konusunda bilinçli yaklaşımlar benimsemeleri gerektiği vurgulanmaktadır. derleme makalede, gençlerde bağımlılığında rolü kapsamlı incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışma önlenmesi yönetilmesinde önemini vurgulayarak, iyi anlaşılması bireyin bağımlılığına etkili müdahale edebilmek için atılacak adımlara yönelik neler yapılabileceğine yürütülecek gelecek araştırmalara dair önerilere vermektedir.

Abstract Background Adolescent problematic social media use (PSMU) has been increasing. Digital engagement associated with substance use, but little is known about the potential protective role of parents. We investigated whether screen and substance-related parental rules moderated associations between (problematic) SMU intake tobacco, alcohol, hashish/marijuana, laughing gas. Methods used data from Amsterdam Born Children Development study (N = 1787; Mage 15.86 years; SD 0.36). Both frequent in relation to gas levels; moderation by perceived (screen/substances), was tested ordinal logistic regression models. Results PSMU higher chances levels. Hashish/marijuana heavy drinking were less prevalent adolescents reporting presence on alcohol/drugs, compared no rules. Although not time, relationship both hashish/marijuana drinking, effect modest, especially mitigating at PSMU-scores. Conclusion positively a wide range behaviours.
