ABSTRACT Aims The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence emotional eating and influencing factors among clinical nurses in China. Background Emotions are closely associated with behaviours, individuals' coping mechanisms for various emotions may manifest their habits. Emotional harm nurses' physical mental health, ultimately affecting quality care. Design This a cross‐sectional survey study. Methods An online was conducted tertiary hospital China from September November 2023 using convenience sampling method. A basic demographic questionnaire, Chinese version Three‐Factor Eating Questionnaire, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Depression Anxiety Stress Scale‐21 were used. Results total 785 participated reported an overall score 12.08 (standard deviation = 4.63); 296 (37.7%) high group. Female gender, age 20–30 years, higher body mass index, work intensive care unit, family financial contribution ≤ 10 000 RMB, poor sleep anxiety risk nurses. Conclusion highlights prevalent issue nurses, indicating pressing need timely intervention improve health.

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the feasibility and potential effectiveness of Unified Protocol for Emotional Eating (UP‐EE) in a group format. Method Fifty‐seven participants exhibiting high to severe emotional eating (EE) were assigned an 8‐week intervention or control receiving treatment as usual (TAU). EE (measured with Dutch Behavior Questionnaire) was primary outcome, while state anxiety (State–Trait Anxiety Inventory [STAI‐S]), depression (Beck Depression [BDI‐II]) perceived stress (Perceived Stress Scale [PSS‐14]) secondary measures, assessed at baseline post‐intervention, 8 weeks later group. Satisfaction measured via Client Questionnaire (CSQ‐8). Effectiveness estimated using linear mixed‐effects model. Results The UP‐EE received positive feedback achieved acceptable retention. There no significant differences regarding sociodemographic clinical characteristics between groups. While both groups not significantly different end intervention, waitlist worsened anxiety, depression, stress, showed only slight improvement EE. In contrast, improvements across these variables, sharper decrease consistent per‐protocol intention‐to‐treat analyses. Conclusions A is feasible intervention. Future research should focus on larger sample randomized controlled trial design utilize measures disordered more clearly identify superiority over comparison condition.

Emotional eating, the consumption of food in response to negative emotions like anxiety or sadness, is driven by brain’s reward system and has serious physical psychological consequences, including obesity, guilt, low self-esteem, eating disorders. This study explores relationship between emotional disorders, such as anxiety, depression, stress, adults, based on evidence from scientific literature. A PRISMA systematic review was conducted, utilizing academic databases PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar. Search terms included combinations "Socio-emotional balance" AND "emotional eating" "Emotional well-being," covering studies published 2018 2023. Of 4,220 initial results, 24 relevant were analyzed. Key variables include socioemotional balance, which influences regulation, characterized responses emotions. Findings reveal that negatively impacts mental health, often causing guilt promoting unhealthy patterns. Factors gender, socioeconomic status, balance identified critical influences. The concludes stems emotions, leading poor health outcomes. Interventions cognitive-behavioral therapy mindfulness can mitigate these behaviors, improving regulation overall well-being.
