Intrinsic capacity (IC), a crucial indicator for the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing 2021-2030, is defined by WHO as foundation functional ability, representing composite all physical and mental capacities an individual. IC spans five function domains: Locomotor, psychological, cognitive, vitality, sensory (including vision hearing). Purpose: Fractures pose a significant global health challenge, with varying incidence trends and causes across demographics regions. This study aims to analyze patterns in the primary of femoral shaft fractures. Methods: Data from Global Burden Disease database were analyzed for fractures (excluding neck fractures) by age, gender, socio-demographic index The estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) was calculated assess Results: fracture cases increased 8,559,886 1990 11,566,429 2021, rise 35.12%. However, rate dropped 160.49 146.57 per 100,000 (EAPC: − 0.35). Males consistently had higher rates, reaching 155.53 2021. 15– 49 age group recorded most cases, while individuals aged 75 older saw largest incidence, 445.91 603.32 100,000. In Slovenia (616.1 100,000), Croatia (568.51 Czechia (434.77 100,000) reported highest Malawi, Kiribati, Liberia lowest (< 63 100,000). Leading mechanical forces, motor vehicle injuries, pedestrian notable regional disparities. Conclusion: Although has declined, it risen significantly among adults, increasing their burden. Understanding variations is crucial developing targeted public interventions address this growing issue. Keywords: fractures, epidemiology, injury

Abstract Introduction This study explores the relationship between domains of intrinsic capacity and quality life in older adults Europe, with particular focus on sex regional differences. It confirms that is a multidimensional construct involving interconnected components such as mobility, cognitive function, mental health, general health. Methods An exploratory factor analysis was conducted using data from SHARE (Waves 5-6), longitudinal multinational project. The focused 11,493 aged 50 above, residing 13 European countries. Sociodemographic, socio-economic factors were considered, including variables like mobility difficulties, performance, depressive symptoms, self-reported used harmonized surveys representative probabilistic sampling to ensure comparability across Results results show significant differences men women, women experiencing greater deterioration key cognition, Women exhibited higher levels decline, which linked longer expectancy exposure chronic diseases. Social determinants, education level economic status, found have impact QoL capacity, socially vulnerable situations showing rates health deterioration, diseases, decline. Regional also played role, notable variations outcomes european regions. Conclusion Mental cognition are determinants adults. highlights importance approaches interventions tailored promote healthy aging.

Intrinsic capacity (IC), a composite of physical and mental capacities, is marker healthy aging. However, the association between changes in IC trajectories older adults onset cardiovascular diseases (CVD) remains unclear. To identify over time assess associations incidence CVD among adults. The prospective cohort study used data from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) 2011 2020. determine trajectory during 2011-2015, we included aged 60 years or without at baseline, who completed follow-up visits 2013 2015. We assessed through five domains (locomotion, sensory, vitality, cognition, psychology) using WHO framework. determined by self-reported diagnoses heart disease stroke. performed group-based model to trajectory, cox proportional hazard models estimate adjusted ratio (HR) for incident across different groups, adjusting sociodemographic factors, lifestyle health behaviors, metabolic factors. 3 336 with mean age 66.64 (SD:5.53) years, 49.4% were male. baseline score was 5.40 (SD:1.70). identified three trajectory: (1) moderate subsequent increase (61.3%), (2) low slow decline (27.61%), (3) high (11.09%). During average 6.78 1,351 cases CVD. After covariates, group 1.68 (95% CI: 1.38-2.04) times more likely develop CVD, compared group. Chinese heterogeneous. Low declining associated an increased risk incidence.
