In-channel water treatment systems remove excess nutrients through biological, chemical, and physical processes associated with the hyporheic zone. However, impact of surface groundwater interactions on these is poorly understood. This research aims to assess influence varying conditions (neutral, drainage water, seepage) different bed sediment hydraulic conductivities nitrogen phosphorus dynamics in in-channel systems. A flume containing was used study changes quality under conditions. Compared inlet outlet concentrations, dissolved reactive (DRP) ammoniacal (NH

This article examines the application of nature-based solutions in stormwater management context Global South, focusing on a co-created green infrastructure plan and pilot intervention project city Paranoá-DF, Brazil. Urban challenges such as extreme floods, droughts, landslides, heatwaves, biodiversity loss call for innovative planning strategies to enhance adaptation resilience. The research methodology combined technical analyses, field work, community participation, runoff modelling develop integrated culturally sensitive city’s environmental socio-economic challenges. then presents outcomes community-based participatory workshops, which informed definition blue network incorporating range NBS. Community-identified priorities were used design urban landscape interventions aimed at enhancing water-related ecosystem services improving quality life. Additionally, supported by hydrological modelling, this details localised that provides new perspectives resilience context. Acknowledging unique faced cities South—where social inequities deficits intersect with vulnerabilities—this study highlights importance adapting NBS contexts precarious urbanisation patterns. With stress expected intensify under climate change, proposed address heightened risks low- middle-income households, promoting more equitable sustainable transformations.
