This study aims to explore the experiences of frontline hospital nurses over 18 months struggle with COVID-19 pandemic. The qualitative thematic analysis method was applied. Twenty-three from nine tertiary hospitals in Israel were interviewed using semi-structured interviews via ZOOM platform between August and September 2021. Interviews video recorded transcribed verbatim. Trustworthiness assured by criteria COREQ checklist. Results: Both negative positive reported: threat uncertainty along awareness their important mission; anxiety helplessness alongside courage heroism. Personal management strategies emerged: regulating overwhelming emotions managing work–life balance. Team support emerged as most meaningful source nurses’ A sense intimacy solidarity enabled processing shared traumatic experiences. Conclusions: deeper understanding through pandemic gained. Informal peer has proven effective struggling events. Formal interventions, such affective–cognitive events, need be integrated into practice. Healthcare policymakers should promote better for caregivers, which will contribute well-being impact quality care they provide.
