MDWT: A Modified Discrete Wavelet Transformation-Based Algorithm for Image Fusion DOI

In this paper, we propose a novel method for image fusion that utilizes modified version of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT). The proposed algorithm enhances standard DWT-based techniques by introducing several modifications to traditional DWT algorithm. We use decompose source images into different sub-bands, which are then combined using strategy produce high-quality fused image. Experimental results demonstrate our significantly outperforms and PCA-based methods, achieving higher average values in key quality metrics such as peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index (SSIM), feature (FSIM). Specifically, MDWT achieved an PSNR 30.8 dB, SSIM 0.880, FSIM 0.860, indicating superior quality. Our study highlights potential enhance performance techniques, making it attractive option researchers practitioners field.

Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) remain a major global health concern, necessitating accurate and comprehensive diagnostic techniques. Traditional medical imaging modalities, such as CT angiography, PET, MRI, ultrasound, provide crucial but limited information when used independently. Image fusion techniques integrate complementary enhance visualization, improve accuracy. This paper presents theoretical study of advanced image methods applied to cardiovascular imaging. We explore wavelet-based, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), deep learning-driven models, emphasizing their underpinnings, mathematical formulation, potential clinical applications. The proposed framework enables improved coronary artery cardiac function assessment, real-time hemodynamic analysis, offering non-invasive highly effective approach diagnostics.
