Assessing urban service locations is a key issue within city planning, integral to promoting the well-being of citizens, and ensuring effective development. However, many current approaches emphasize spatial analysis focused solely on physical attributes, neglecting equally vital social dimensions essential for enhancing inhabitants’ comfort quality life. When factors are considered, they tend operate at smaller scales. This paper addresses this gap by prioritizing integrating alongside community level. By employing space syntax theory, study investigates suitability in Hajjah, Palestinian community, presenting novel approach literature. The research identifies good spots governmental facilities like health clinics fire stations using axial map analysis. It also suggests reallocation some schools. Additionally, it shows ways improve placement amenities, finding ideal park but suboptimal mosque placements. Commercial services exhibit areas enhancement including gas shops. insights from can offer policymakers planners create more efficient, equitable, accessible cities. incorporates behavior dynamics into analysis, inclusive planning.

The standardization of river system structures has reduced hydrological connectivity, exerting significant pressure on both ecology and urban development. precise diagnosis proposal optimization strategies remain key challenges. This study utilizes graph theory to delineate the network topology in Chengdu city establishes an evaluation index (α, β, γ) for connectivity. Spatiotemporal changes Chengdu's connectivity from 2000 2020 are analyzed, alongside a validated scheme focusing "pressure dispersion" among nodes. findings reveal simplification structure over past two decades, marked by reduction 72 nodes 81 segments. Particularly center (region II), these have significantly diminished overall Following implementation method, distribution critical Region II been more equitably, enhancing resilience against disasters like floods diversifying burden Furthermore, indices showed improvements post-optimization, with α, γ rising 75%, 7.26%, respectively, thereby validating efficacy approach. Analyzing variations parameters across systems identifies vulnerable links fundamental issues, laying groundwork future improvements. proposed methodology offers insights applicable cities worldwide grappling similar

Abstract Cities are crucial for supporting biodiversity and likely to play an important role in helping respond the global crisis. Understanding how plants animals utilize various urban spaces is essential designing cities that accommodate both human ecological needs. Informal green (IGS) have been historically overlooked space research planning. However, there growing interest potential benefit of IGS biodiversity. This study builds on previous by examining contribution at metropolitan scale. We do this mapping across entire landscape Greater Melbourne, Australia, using crowdsourced survey data assess native bird plant species richness. Our findings indicate contribute richness can so a similar extent as formal spaces. found utility easements brownfield sites were particularly types While like parks remain vital biodiversity, should be considered integral part greenspace networks. Protecting and enhancing biodiversity in urban areas is critical for meeting international conservation commitments, has a vital role to play the health wellbeing of city residents. Yet, urbanisation can have devastating impacts on biodiversity, with development typically delivering landscapes which habitat remains only as small, fragmented patches, surrounded by an inhospitable matrix. As cities begin plan alongside other land use considerations, planners leverage ecological knowledge planning concepts aid decision making deliver benefits nature people. Here we demonstrate how targeted green infrastructure placement potentially increase delivery landscape level improving connectivity native species. We measure change when parking spaces are converted small across City Melbourne, Australia. test three reallocation scenarios varying levels space conversion spatial prioritisation connectivity. While scenario that maximised number performed best, show greening delivered strongest outcomes per unit area converted. Improvements were two times higher effort was towards locations identified important barriers landscape-level movement. The Asiatic black bear ( Ursus thibetanus ), classified as a vulnerable species on the IUCN Red List, is an important mammal found in state of Sikkim, India. Studies carried out Khangchendzonga National Park have documented presence these bears, highlighting their crucial conservation importance region. population Black bears are restricted to small habitat patches, which over years become fragmented by road networks and urban settlements. In such landscapes, connecting corridors play role maintaining wildlife movement genetic diversity. We assessed connectivity between eight protected areas Sikkim using MaxENT Circuitscape. 65 locations (collected through Camera traps sign surveys) 24 environmental variables were used model corridors. Habitat suitability map was generated modelling approach. Our analysis suggests that there multiple options maintain for Sikkim. mapped seven five pinch points (bottlenecks connectivity), calculated metrics estimate quality importance. output supported high AUC value (0.921) field validation questionnaire surveys assess use. results showed 300 km² suitable regions within highest linkages measured ratio cost-weighted distance Euclidean (CWD:EucD) least-cost path (CWD:LCP) Barsey, suggesting (National Parks Wildlife Sanctuaries) developed connectivity. pinch-points where due unfavorable environments, linear infrastructures, built up/settlements or combination factors our predicted near few settlement areas; Mangan, Dikchu, Pangthang, Kabi, Yuksum Lachen.
