Urbanisation affects the water cycle and heat balance in a negative way. Vegetated roofs have potential to minimise effects of urbanisation. A scoping review is presented here examine how vegetated are being evolved as an effective tool sustainable urban stormwater management overall development. It has been found that research on increasing significantly it can contribute towards achieving multiple development goals (SDGs). also uptake slow. lack regulatory acceptance caused by absence experimental data subsequent knowledge gap establishing effectiveness major reasons behind this slow uptake. Future their evolutions should put focus gathering performance benchmark for detention, retention quality settings. Such be utilised developing stand-alone guideline software green roof design.

Anthropogenic land alterations in Maun village have transformed natural vegetation into urban infrastructure, including pavements, and residential commercial areas, leading to elevated Land Surface Temperature (LST). This expansion resulted from economic growth driven by population increase tourism-related development. study aims evaluate the relationship between Use Cover Changes (LULCCs) LST. Utilising Landsat 5-TM Landsat-8 data 1990, 2000, 2020, we employed a random forest algorithm for supervised classification, generating (LULC) maps. The mono-window was used extract LST 5 8 images, alongside Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) s regression analysis assessed LST-NDVI correlation. Results indicate that LULCCs significantly contribute rising Minimum maximum values 2020 were 18.6°C, 22.8°C, 22.6°C, 26.7°C, 34.5°C, 42.1°C, respectively. NDVI ranged −0.2 0.56 −0.17 0.58 0.07 0.46 2020. Roads, barren land, built-up areas displayed highest (44.6°C), while water bodies healthy exhibited lowest (16.1°C). Urban environment carries complex land-use and land cover (LULC), similarly Karachi as a metropolitan have multifaceted LULC compact infrastructure.
