Abstract High‐performance polymer fibers, commonly used as reinforced have garnered significant attention across various scientific and industrial domains due to their extremely high tensile strength excellent toughness. Notably, poly( p ‐phenylene‐2,6‐benzobisoxazole) (PBO) fibers are hailed the most advanced high‐performance of twenty‐first century, known for exceptional mechanical properties, outstanding thermal stability, flame retardancy, chemical resistance, attracting considerable favor from researchers. This review provides a comprehensive overview structure PBO two synthesis methods polymers, detailing properties offer valuable references researchers in this area. highlights techniques modifying fibers.
