Comparison of Disaster Management Practices in Indonesia: A Study of Resilience in Garut and Majene Districts
Abstract
As
natural
hazards

Indonesia

pressing
issue.
This
study
compares
the
and
mitigation
methods
used
Majene
Regency
Garut
Regency.
Interviews,
document
analysis,
exploration
of
certain
crucial
facts
are
all

qualitative
methodology.

analysis.
According
findings,
have
put
plans
into
action,
which
include
community
initiatives
municipal
laws.
However,
absence
comprehensive
catastrophe
insurance,
including

private
sector
policies

coverage,
along

competence

biggest
obstacles
effective
mitigation.
Logistical
access
issues
outlying
places
significantly
slowed
down
evacuation
relief
distribution
process
during
reaction
phase.
With
an
emphasis
on
debris
removal,
rehabilitation,
economic
psychological
empowerment,
post-disaster
recovery
regions
also
demonstrated
value
cooperation
between
government
agencies,
NGOs,
sector,
communities.
