The beneficiation of low-grade iron ores is a key research and development topic in the mineral processing industry. gradual exhaustion high-grade ore reserves, rising consumer steel demand globally necessitate efficient low-quality to meet steelmaking quality requirements. This comprehensive review explores various techniques for ore, focusing on conventional methods including comminution, froth flotation gravity separation. article discusses principles, processes, equipment used these highlights recent advancements efforts field. also emphasizes importance effective processes enhancing economic viability, sustainable resource management, environmental conservation. Furthermore, it presents case study deposits Botswana, highlighting potential growth that can be achieved by maximizing utilization through reductive roasting, followed magnetic separation using semi-bituminous coal as reductant. Overall, this provides valuable insights into their significance meeting growing high-quality products.

Cassiterite has been an essential source of tin; its exploration and exploitation have become a priority worldwide. The effective beneficiation cassiterite depends mainly on grindability liberation. Modified Bond's test is method used to determine the work index, which crucial in estimating energy needed grind ore. This during mineral processing, as slight deviation would affect company's operating expenditure (OPEX). study investigates index for Farin-Lamba with reference silica sand sourced from Igbokoda. ore (cassiterite) was analyzed using Energy Dispersed X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (ED-XRS), Petrographic Analysis, Scanning Electron Microscope equipped Dispersive Spectrum (SEM-EDS) understand their chemical mineralogical characteristics relation grindability. material (silica sand) underwent comminution 500g each 100% passing 500 μm array sieves arranged (√2) series 500μm 63μm onto automatic sieve shaker. analysis revealed presence gangue such SiO2 Al2O3, increases communition; further, rough large grain size also communition. results were subjected Gaudin Schuman's equation ore's 14.664 KWh/ton ore, standard cassiterite, ranges 10-15 kWh/ton. Further, calculated be 33.7272 Kwh, providing valuable insights into efficiency grinding process. evaluation not only contributes toward understanding processing dynamics but provides information optimization consumed process tin oxide production.
