ABSTRACT The interaction of biochar with mineral fertilization has attracted attention as a strategy to reduce N losses and enhance nitrogen use efficiency. In this study, we investigated the coapplication two optimized strategies based on split urea microbial inoculant ( Azospirillum brasilense ) in commercial pointed white cabbage crop. Additionally, evaluated third alternative, biochar‐based fertilizer (BBF) enriched plant‐available N, which was developed from same biochar. We assessed environmental impacts such greenhouse gasses (GHG) NH 3 emissions, yield‐scaled 2 O global warming potential (GWP). agronomical outcomes crop yield, plant chlorophyll concentration. Moreover, examined N‐fixing gene's total relative abundance nifH /16S). Biochar BBF exhibited similar GHG, emissions compared applications synthetic fertilizer. main difference associated higher soil C sequestration treatments that reduced GWP these strategies. Finally, favored activity bacteria spread, sole application demonstrated promoting effect soil's natural bacteria.

Hydrothermal biochar has demonstrated potential in enhancing crop growth by improving soil properties and microbial activity; however, its effectiveness varies with application rate, excessive amounts potentially inhibiting plant growth. This study employed a pot experiment approach to compare varying rates of hydrothermal (ranging from 0 50 t/ha) analyze effects on alfalfa biomass, photosynthetic efficiency, nutrient content, community composition. Biochar increased dry weight 12.22-21.20% leaves, 31.60-55.60% stalks, 5.62-38.05% roots. It also enhanced the light utilization efficiency photosystem II. However, (50 reduced biomass photosynthesis. The addition amendments enhances availability, particularly increasing accessibility carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, while lowering pH enriching interactions within bacterial communities. fungal communities are not pronounced. In conclusion, moderate (10-20t/ha) is recommended maximize improve health, offering practical for sustainable cultivation alfalfa.

Most farmers use urea as a nitrogen fertiliser to raise mustard (Brassica juncea L.), although its (N) content is quickly lost due hygroscopic nature. Nitrogen loss in the form of nitrous oxide (N2O) and nitrates (NO3–) has been causing low efficiency vegetable cultivation. This investigation aims assess impact coated with biochar or activated charcoal on losses N2O NO3– concentration soil during production. The experiment used randomised block design five treatments biochar/activated charcoal. observed data included flux, nitrate, ammonia water. results showed that from corn cobs tended suppress N more effectively than coconut shells. Biochar shells suppressed N-N2O much 3.1% 52.5% (7 days after planting (DAP)), respectively, 68.7% 71.6% (21 DAP), respectively. cob reduce by 46.5% 66.5% 70.7% 77.8% DAP). Urea-coated increases plant biomass uptake. corncobs increase 5, 24, 6, 17%, Biochar/activated coatings are promising technology for boosting crops, including crops.
