Abstract Humic substances have an enormous potential for regenerative agriculture to improve soil quality and plant growth. Recently developed technologies called hydrothermal humification enabled the conversion of waste into artificial humic acids, that would allow sustainable large‐scale applications. However, not much is known about effect artificially produced acid on microbiome its drought‐exposed soil. Therefore, we studied drought stress microbiota in sandy a controlled experimental design. Analyses 16S rDNA amplicon libraries by bioinformatics statistics revealed both application influenced bacterial community composition significantly, but only affected diversity. Bacterial families like Pseudomonadaceae, Peptostreptococcaceae Moraxellaceae enriched under conditions, suggest adaptation selection microbiome. Under stress, treatment kept diversity stable changed composition. We propose can community, diminish favour growth‐promoting taxa, bring sequestrate carbon

Pyrochar (Biochar) produced from the thermochemical conversion of biomass has been widely used as a soil amendment to improve agricultural quality. Since polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can be in such processes, occurrence PAHs pyrochars extensively studied, and standards European Biochar Certificate (EBC) International Initiative (IBI) contain limit values for biochars applied soils. However, studies on PAH levels hydrochars hydrothermal which an alternative wet are scarce. This study focuses comparing 16 regulated by US EPA 22 char samples (including pyrolysis, carbonization, and, first time, humification) using ultrasonic extraction method. Results showed that sum all was well below requirements two standards, except pyrochar at farm scale. They ranged 131 9358 µg·kg−1 seven not detected 333 fourteen hydrochars. Our findings indicate hydrochar via methods exhibits much lower concentrations is safe option environmental applications.
