Abstract Causal models find application in almost all areas of science, and they often support the development theories that are straightforward testable. Yet scientists also observe things surprise them. Fascinated by such observations, learn to admire playful aspects life, as well its creativity diversity. Under these circumstances, a compelling question arises: Can causal explain life’s diversity? Some life say yes. However, other humanities scholars cast doubt, positing reached end theory. Here, I build on common empirical observations long-accumulated modeling experience, develop unified framework for modeling. The gives special attention diversity, it applies sciences including physics, biology, city, humanities.

People have a "right to the city", at least if one is agree with French philosopher Henri Lefebvre. But cities are places that everyone has right to, they must be for diverse people, and hence, diversity. This insight makes it all more relevant quantify map urban diversity, which become an emerging field of research. In this present article, we build on past ongoing research, expand diversity mapping commuter specifically. As case study, in New York City, discover correlation between tall buildings. We show areas many buildings most diverse. rule thumb, height tallest building such can taken as rough estimate how area is. The opposite not necessarily true. Urban without do lack although rarely These findings suggest vertical growth may form positive feedback loop. article comes GitHub repository provides data code easy anyone interested replicate results.

Multiple important theoreticians have criticized that the second law of thermodynamics made field stand apart from causal modeling. The states entropy can only increase in a system, but such results is special case Indeed, term “negative entropy” has been coined to describe broad array processes which decrease modeled. While this particular historical contradiction remained at least partly unsolved, more recent developments both fields started support new convergence.

Even before those latter questions are answered, presented with hotel options, get very fast accustomed comparing options on a map. The map thus becomes at tools geospatial discovery.
