ABSTRACT Studies on foreign direct investment (FDI) and environmental quality (EQ) have not reached a consensus have, in fact, exacerbated disagreements about their relationship. Previous research FDI CO2 emissions still faces two key limitations. First, earlier studies examined this relationship at lower quantiles. Second, most approaches rely traditional frequency‐based methods. As result, study adds to the literature by investigating how affected EQ 112 nations between 1990 2021. The Bayesian quantile regression (BQR) approach was used study, resulting fact that improves environment countries with low medium quantiles (0.05–0.45) but deteriorates high (0.50–0.95). A unique aspect of is provides probability an independent variable's impact (positive or negative) dependent variable. findings show improving relatively (up 99.94% 0.25 quantile). On other hand, 99.05% chance will detrimental effect noticeable 0.70 quantile. robustness BQR assessed through trace plots posterior distribution (histograms). results demonstrate all parameter model are reasonable, uniform normally shaped distributions, indicating approach. basis findings, author recommends increasing inflows quantiles, particularly Africa Latin America. In order attract high‐quality inflows, host should also upgrade infrastructure release policies targeted accomplishing sustainable development goals.

Purpose This study aims to examine the relationship between Digital Financial Inclusion (DFI), Economic Complexity (EC) and their interaction with respect income inequality (II). Design/methodology/approach The data comprises a sample of 14 countries globally for period 2005–2021. Two traditional methods, Generalized Method Moments (GMM) Bayesian probability, are utilized explore nuanced effects these factors on II. Findings results show that both DFI EC contribute reducing However, is found unexpectedly exacerbate II, highlighting complex dynamics factors. Originality/value First, this provides theoretical foundation empirical evidence how impacts II within context EC, addressing significant research gap. Second, use regression addresses challenges such as small sizes, autocorrelation endogeneity, thereby enhancing robustness findings. Third, by combining probabilistic approaches, not only enhances reliability but also policymakers actionable insights into DFI, influence supporting more effective policy interventions.
