High stocking density (HSD) and heat stress (HS) challenge broiler production. While antibiotics can mitigate the adverse effects of HS HSD, their restricted use underscores need to explore phytochemicals, particularly combined under such conditions. This study investigated influence flavonoids, isoquinoline alkaloids, combinations as alternatives bacitracin on growth performance, inflammatory status, gut morphology, ceca microbiome in broilers raised HSD HS. A total 2100 one-day-old male Ross 308 chicks were distributed into 70 replicates, randomly assigned one seven dietary treatments during summer for 37 days. The included normal (NSD, 10 birds/m2); (15 + 50 ppm (BCT); 300 flavonoids (FVNs); 80 alkaloids (IQAs); FVNs (1–10 days) IQAs (11–37 (FVN-IQA); (IQA-FVN). index reached or exceeded 160 most experimental period. From 11 24 days age, BCT birds had lower body weight gain. FVNs, IQAs, decreased corticosterone, IL-6, malondialdehyde, heterophil–lymphocytes ratio compared HSD. Jejunal, ileal, duodenal villi height/crypt depth was than other except BCT. α- β-diversity, microbiota composition, metabolic pathways affected by treatment groups. Overall, improved anti-inflammatory response, health HS, with exerting synergistic effects.

Heat stress is a critical challenge in the poultry industry. It arises when birds are exposed to elevated ambient temperatures beyond their thermoneutral zone, often exacerbated by high humidity and inadequate ventilation. This condition disrupts birds' ability maintain thermal homeostasis, leading physiological behavioral changes such as increased panting, reduced feed intake, water consumption. These responses aim dissipate heat but result energy imbalances, oxidative stress, impaired immune function. Green tea polyphenols (GTPs) mitigate modulating pathways, primarily scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) enhancing antioxidant defense mechanisms. pathways play pivotal role neutralizing ROS generated during inflammation, exposure electrophilic compounds. action helps restore cellular balance enhances overall mechanisms converting harmful free radicals into less molecules, oxygen. Nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 (Nrf2) plays significant character activation of enzymatic antioxidants network. translocates nucleus upon activation, binds response elements (AREs) promoter regions target genes, upregulates expression key enzymes. Therefore, regulation Nrf2 considered molecular marker mitigating effects its detoxification enzymes, protecting against damage inflammation induced temperatures. exploratory review summarizes anti-oxidative GTPs poultry. highlights cytoprotective basis epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), particularly Nrf2-mediated which enhance systems protect damage.
