Purpose The purpose of this research note is to call for action and on higher education as a service ecosystem. By explicating the need innovation in education, deepens understanding how institutional dissonance can influence value cocreation ecosystems. Design/methodology/approach Viewing from service-centered, systems-oriented lens reveals related diversity, equity inclusion catalyze university. In other words, when nontraditional faculty, staff, students stakeholders cannot meaningfully engage with university or, vice versa, it not possible truly emerge Findings Because extant data persistence based findings Predominantly White Institutions (PWI), literature do yet provide insights universities large-scale institutions that adapt nontraditional, nonwhite college or actors.
