With
a
population
nearing
15
million,
the
metropolitan
area
of
Tehran
faces
numerous
environmental
challenges
due
to
inadequate
urban
strategies
and
hasty,
ineffective
planning.
The
primary
objective
this
research
is
investigate
Urban
Heat
Island
(UHI)
climatology
in
metropolis
Tehran.
To
achieve
this,
daily
Land
Surface
Temperature
(LST)
data
from
MODIS-Aqua,
with
spatial
resolution
1
km,
was
utilized
over
19-year
period
(2003–2021).
This
study
delves
into
various
climatic
characteristics,
including
urban-rural
temperature
difference,
heat
hotspots,
structure
(SUHI),
trends
LST
changes,
roles
elevation
vegetation
cover
distribution
LST,
at
both
monthly
annual
scales.
Findings
reveal
that,
compared
daytime
Aqua-MODIS
data,
nighttime
provides
more
reliable
means
detecting
studying
SUHI
throughout
year.
Additionally,
employment
significantly
reduces
seasonal
variations
month-to-month
fluctuations
difference
between
warm
core
surrounding
areas
A
climatological
analysis
revealed
mean
6.17
°C
its
suburbs.

Abstract
Climate
factors

political
development

study
explores
the
role
of
climatic
shaping
landscape

urbanization

commercial
space,
