This research focused on improving the drought tolerance of Dracocephalum moldavica, a plant vulnerable to water stress, by exploring combined effects melatonin spray and mycorrhizal fungus Glomus intraradices inoculation. The experiment was designed as factorial randomized study evaluate plant's morphological, physiological, phytochemical responses under different conditions (100%, 75%, 50% field capacity). findings revealed that combination inoculation significantly improved morphological traits Moldavian balm conditions. Under severe (50% capacity), chlorophyll b levels increased 26.3% 35.5%, respectively, when both treatments were applied. Stress indicators, including electrolyte leakage malondialdehyde content, substantially reduced with simultaneous application symbiosis, indicating decreased cellular damage. Moreover, treatment resulted in highest activities antioxidant enzymes catalase peroxidase, suggesting these bolster oxidative stress defense mechanisms. Additionally, alone led an increase secondary metabolites like phenolic flavonoid compounds, which further amplified treatments. also observed significant alterations essential oil composition plant. Drought α-pinene, 1,8-cineole, borneol, increases even more pronounced Conversely, geraniol geranial treatment. Overall, this demonstrates can effectively enhance moldavica its physiological characteristics biochemical composition.

We are quickly gaining insights into the mechanisms and functions of plant-mutualist relationships with common overarching aim exploiting them to enhance food security crop resilience. There is a growing mass research describing various benefits plant-mutualistic fungi, including increased nutrition, yields, tolerance biotic abiotic factors. The bulk this has been focused on arbuscular mycorrhiza; however, there now an expansion toward other plant mutualistic fungi. Contrary established 'mycorrhizal induced resistance' principle, increasing evidence shows that certain pests pathogens may, in fact, exploit mutualists provide their hosts, resulting enhanced pathogenicity reduced mutualist-derived benefits. In Viewpoint, we propose studying fungi under controlled artificial conditions indeed provides in-depth knowledge but may mislead long-term applications as it does not accurately reflect multi-symbiont scenarios occur natura. summarize reciprocal impacts pests, such parasitic nematodes, plant-fungal mutualisms highlight how glasshouse experiments often yield contradictory results. emphasize need for collaborative efforts increase granularity experimental systems, better reflecting natural environments gain holistic mutualist before applying sustainable protection strategies.

One of the most destructive diseases affecting rice is blast, which brought on by blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. The preventive measures, however, are not well established. To effectively reduce negative effects blasts crop yields, it imperative to comprehend dynamic interactions between pathogen resistance and patterns host carbon allocation. This review explores relationship variations in allocation plants' ability withstand damaging M. highlights potential strategies for altering including transgenic, selective breeding, rotation, nutrient management practices as a promising avenue enhancing resistance. study advances our knowledge interaction oryzae provides stakeholders farmers with practical guidance mitigating adverse globally. information may be used future create varieties that resistant

In plants under drought stress, sugar content in roots increases, which is important for resistance. However, the molecular mechanisms controlling during response to remain elusive. Here, we found that MdDOF3-MdHT1.2 module-mediated glucose influx into root essential resistance apple (Malus × domestica). Drought induced uptake from rhizosphere and up-regulated transcription of hexose transporter MdHT1.2. Compared with wild-type plants, overexpression MdHT1.2 promoted rhizosphere, thereby facilitating accumulation enhancing resistance, whereas silenced showed opposite phenotype. Furthermore, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq biochemical analysis demonstrated MdDOF3 directly bound promoter was strongly drought. Overexpression improved MdHT1.2-mediated transport capacity enhanced plant drought, but MdDOF3-RNAihr Moreover, did not attenuate sensitivity MdHT1.2-RNAi correlated a lower root. Collectively, our findings deciphered mechanism through mediated by MdDOF3-MdHT1.2, acts modulate promote
