Pharmaceutical analysis refers to an area of analytical chemistry that deals with active compounds either by themselves (drug substance) or when formulated excipients product). The growing environmental concerns associated with petrochemical-based adhesives have driven interest in sustainable alternatives. This study investigates the use of bio-oil, derived from municipal sewage sludge (MSS) through hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL), as a reactive filler polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (pMDI) wood adhesives. rich hydroxyl and carbonyl functional groups, was characterized using FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), elemental analysis, NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance). These groups interact isocyanate pMDI, enabling crosslinking enhancing adhesive performance. Various MSS bio-oil pMDI formulations were evaluated for tensile shear strength on Southern yellow pine veneers under dry wet conditions. formulation 1:4 to weight ratio exhibited best performance, achieving strengths 1.96 MPa (dry) 1.66 (wet). Higher content led decreased strength, attributed reduced increased moisture sensitivity. demonstrates potential MSS-derived additive adhesives, offering benefits without significantly compromising performance marking step toward greener solutions.

Although humic substances (HSs) are among the most valuable compounds in environment, they often constitute nuisance factors for wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). However, their recovery from by-products of WWTPs opens up opportunities utilization. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate suitability selected analytical methods determining structure, properties, and possible utilization HSs originating based on model (MHCs). As a consequence, proposed separate approaches initial in-depth characterization HSs. Melanoidins, as macromolecular heterogeneous organic polymers, are produced from the Maillard reaction between amino and carbonyl groups during thermal hydrolysis pretreatment (THP) of sludge. The brown color recalcitrance melanoidins pose a serious threat to wastewater treatment systems, such invalidating UV disinfection decreasing efficiency anaerobic digestion; thus, they have gradually received much concern in recent years. However, currently study on THP-origin is limited by lack reliable extraction quantification methods.
