Many key groups of people (e.g., older people, disabled and minoritised people) are at risk being excluded from research, which will affect the generalisability, quality, relevance, integrity research findings conclusions. However, ways making more inclusive have not been adequately explored. Appropriate strategies to maximise participation marginalised populations with diverse viewpoints, expertise, experience needed enable them make meaningful contributions. In this article, we draw lessons four case studies that used Group Concept Mapping (a type participatory, consensus generate agreement around a topic interest within group, community or society).
