There have been numerous investigations of aberrant eating and substance abuse among patients who undergone bariatric surgery, which affects the metabolism pharmacokinetics alcohol. However, there is a dearth literature considering complex interplay between changes in post-surgery food alcohol consumption. Furthermore, despite increasing recognition issues surrounding replacing consumption with (Food Alcohol Disturbance [FAD]), most emerging research has focused on young adult populations. This perspective reviews synthesizes small but growing body consumption, particularly FAD, considers its application to surgery general. are unique considerations for surgery. Patients experience altered gastric anatomy, metabolism, advised abstain from drinking after After reviewing available literature, this highlights future directions practice

The present study aimed at exploring the combined effect of risk eating disorders (ED), alcohol use, physical activity, and social psychological traits in Food Alcohol Disturbance (FAD) behaviors. Nine-hundred seventy-six college students were included study. They then divided into two groups based on Compensatory Eating Behaviors Response to Consumption Scale (CEBRACS): with a FAD positive score student negative score. Both participants compared ED, activity variables, as well dimensions. A cluster analysis was performed group determine distinct subgroups explore involvement dimensions comparison between non-FAD demonstrated more severe higher level impulsivity, anxiety, depression drinking motives lower self-esteem engaged behaviors non-engaged students. identified four clusters: asceticism subgroup, damage control emotional subgroup recreational subgroup. Overall, results reveal that should not be considered unitary behavior but rather complex pattern involving profiles.

Abstract Emerging evidence highlights the role of social comparison in competition and cooperation, yet dynamics among competitiveness, cooperativeness, orientation (SCO) remain underexplored. In present study, we sought to unravel these complex interplays employing graphical Gaussian models (GGMs) characterize network structures utilizing cross‐sectional data derived from 1073 Chinese participants. A pre‐registered independent sample ( n = 1348) served examine replicability robustness our initial findings. Moreover, explored Bayesian networks (i.e., directed acyclic graphs) delve into their probabilistic dependencies. Our analysis identified an interpersonal co‐opetition where SCO bridges competitiveness emphasizing key influence desire surpass others. We also found a significant gender effect on levels orientations but not patterns. Additionally, replication offered validation for resultant structure its nodes. sum, findings provide new insight symbiotic relationship between cooperativeness within framework comparison, offering theoretical practical implications.

Engagement in food and alcohol disturbance (FAD; e.g., restricting caloric intake the context of using to quicken/increase intoxication [FAD-intoxication] and/or offset calories consumed from [FAD-calories]) confers risk college students. Much research suggests that students overestimate frequency high-risk drinking among their peers, leading greater participation personal drinking. However, limited work has examined social norms related FAD association with behaviors.
