Results strongly supported hypotheses. Taken together, our findings not only contribute to growing body research addictive behaviors individuals' well-being, but also provide support for prevention programs field.

A total 2.3% screened positive for addiction. As compared no symptoms, associated with an elevated risk depression (OR = 2.71; 95% CI 1.08, 6.83) negatively wellbeing (coef −1.29; −2.41, −0.16). Similarly, loneliness 4.40; 1.20, 16.19), network size −0.46; −0.86, −0.06). There is need preventive actions against addictive use, as this poses significant functioning working age population.

Abstract Very little research has simultaneously explored the interactions between generalized problematic internet use (GPIU), social media (PSMU), online gaming (POG), psychological distress, and emotional well-being among university students. Therefore, present study aimed to determine (i) associations GPIU, PSMU, POG symptoms, (ii) whether symptoms of these three behaviours form distinct entities, (iii) there are behaviours, distress role limitations using network analysis. A total 807 Spanish students participated (57.7% female; M age = 21.22 years [SD 3.68]). Two models were computed. Network 1 showed a complex interaction nodes, with particularly strong connections analogous GPIU PSMU. Symptoms organised into dimensions, featuring unique dimension for one that includes preoccupation conflict symptom two other dimensions 2 significant depression, limitations, PSMU anxiety, anxiety. The findings support conceptualization as nonspecific disorder, independence constructs, aligning perspectives separate from spectrum. reinforces model compensatory emphasizes impact on well-being. have practical implications assessment intervention behaviours.

A sample 696 Italian adults completed an online survey assessing personality traits, psychological distress, usage motives for metrics. Confirmatory factor analysis supported model, with (salience tolerance) (relapse, withdrawal, conflict, mood modification) as distinct factors. Neuroticism, depression, emotional dysregulation, loneliness, FoMO diversion motive were more strongly correlated symptoms. In turn, social interaction, documentation, self-promotion associated engagement. Background While the constitutive features of problematic social media use (PSMU) have been formulated, there has a lack studies in field examining structure relationships among PSMU components. Method This study employed network analytic methods to investigate connectivity components large sample 1,136 college student users ( M age = 19.69, SD 1.60). Components were assessed by Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) derived from model addiction. We computed two types models, Gaussian graphical models (GGMs) examine and influential nodes directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) identify probabilistic dependencies Result Relapse component consistently emerged as central node GGMs parent other DAGs. tolerance exhibited strong mutual connections linked most vital edges within networks. Additionally, conflict mood modification occupied more positions for low-BSMAS-score subgroup compared with high-BSMAS-score subgroup. Conclusion Our findings shed new light on complex architecture its potential implications tailored interventions relieve PSMU.

Results: majority were females (83.1%, n=300), while 16.9% males (n=61). Mean age was 23.3 years. Our correlation analysis showed correlated with increased (p-value < 0.01 both cases). Moreover, reduced duration night associated Additionally, sleepiness work/class 0.01). Conclusions: found a positive addiction, adults we addiction. Therefore, important issue policy makers should develop appropriate interventions reduce this phenomenon.
