Purpose The current study investigated the link between government housing assistance and depression among U.S. adults using data from 2022 National Health Interview Survey. Method Depression severity was measured with Patient Questionnaire-8, logistic regression models were used to assess association depression, adjusting for sociodemographic factors. Results Individuals receiving significantly more likely experience moderate severe (odds ratio [OR] = 1.77, p < 0.001). Poor health status strongest predictor of (OR 12.11, 0.001), whereas older age, higher education, marriage linked lower odds. Interaction analysis revealed that Hispanic individuals some college education had odds than non-Hispanic White less education. Conclusion Findings emphasize need mental support within programs, particularly addressing disparities vulnerable groups. [ Journal Psychosocial Nursing Mental Services, xx (xx), xx–xx.]
