Abstract Background A myriad of materials, ranging from soft sensors to bone substitutes, undergo torsional loading throughout their operational lifespan. Many these materials are produced using additive manufacturing (AM) technology due its broad applicability. Understanding the behavior AM components is crucial prior utilization. However, research on solid additively-manufactured resin polymers remains very limited. Objective To address gap in understanding polymers, this study aimed investigate effect varying gage lengths and UV post-curing durations capacity, shear modulus, energy absorption characteristics materials. Methods Torsion specimens were fabricated vat photopolymerization (VPP) with AnyCubic Tough Resin. The prepared different (20, 40, 60, 80 mm) subjected five (0, 15, 30, 90, 120 min). Monotonic torsion was applied until failure at a rate 0.1 revolutions per minute. Results tests revealed ductile patterns across all specimens. Longer times found correlate increased capacities moduli. conclusions regarding unit volume remained inconclusive. results showed that exposure had significantly greater impact mechanical properties compared length. Additionally, normalized trilinear model proposed characterize under monotonic torsion, which facilitates numerical simulation material responses finite element software.
