Mesh filters are frequently employed in water-saving irrigation fields. Studies addressing the method of cake formation and characteristics during mesh filter’s growing phase still missing. One-way orthogonal experiments were carried out using with 220 μm 320 aperture sizes as research objects, taking particle concentrations, inlet flow, growth phases experimental factors. According to variation rule seed pressure drop process filter cake, is divided into four stages, which follows: slow blockage first second stages (M1, M2), fast stage (M3), filtration (M4). Moreover, size distribution, porosity (ε), pore-to-particle ratio (KP), median (d50) used represent structural characteristics. The results show that was a started filling pores by intercepted particles progressed large-particle skeleton subsequently filtered particles. During this process, proportion gradually decreased, while increased incrementally, (ε) decreased. Meanwhile, smaller screen, cake’s was, but larger (KP) was. As flow rate increased, augmented M1 M2 stages; however, it decreased M3 M4 stages. concentration had minor influence on porosity. Lastly, regression model for under two conditions established, based factors such rate, concentration, stage. coefficients determination, R2, 90.33% 80.73%, indicating good fit.

Food security, a crucial issue for the development of humankind, is often severely constrained by water scarcity. As globally recognized most advanced agricultural water-saving technology, drip irrigation under plastic mulch (DIPM) has played significant role in grain production. However, comprehensive review dual impacts this practice farmland remains lacking. This study conducted an exhaustive DIPM research from 1999 to 2023 and employed CiteSpace software perform co-occurrence clustering analysis keywords order reveal hotspots trends. Such strategies as mechanized residual-mulch recovery, biodegradable substitution, aerated alternate are proposed address existing issues triggered DIPM. advocates active exploration farming management practices superior development.
