The Chinese Chernozems face extreme challenges of soil degradation and crop productivity decline. Biochar-based organic fertilizer (BOF) is effectively applied to improve yield quality. Nonetheless, the mechanisms involved in enhancement interaction with root traits, quality, microorganisms after BOF application remain unclear. Herein, a two-year field experiment three rates [3.0 Mg ha−1 (BOF3), 6.0 (BOF6), 9.0 (BOF9)] was conducted evaluate impact on microorganisms, no as control treatment (CK). Compared CK, increased maize by 9.1 ∼ 32.0 % second year application, highest (16.1 ha−1) obtained BOF6. plant growth index 29.7 98.9 %, mainly attributed increase volume (2.4 57.4 %), aboveground biomass (31.4 44.0 nitrogen (N) uptake (123.2 216.0 %). quality not only topsoil (27.7 31.1 %) but also subsoil (22.7 25.1 BOF, particularly two (BOF6 BOF9). The combined effects of tillage and organic amendments on microbial respiration its contribution to soil hydraulic conductivity are still uncertain in the 0–40 cm layer a loess soil. Three methods (conventional (CT), deep (DT) no (NT)) plus five fertilizer treatments (mineral (control) alone along with 20 t ha−1 wheat straw (MWS), husk (MWH), farmyard (MFS) bioorganic (MBF)) were set up as experimental treatments. findings demonstrated that significantly increased saturated compared control 0–10 10–20 layers. Soil had indirect by improving water stability macroporosity. Additionally, hydrological parameters significant 20–40 layer. NT-MBF resulted greatest conductivity, which was directly correlated soil’s strong organization. Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical used primarily in the manufacture of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. BPA considered endocrine-disrupting (EDC) because it interferes with hormonal systems. Over decades, several techniques have been proposed for removal wastewaters. This study discusses recent advancements progress effective removal, including membrane, adsorption, advanced oxidation process (AOPs), biodegradation. The mechanisms adsorption on modified adsorbents include pore-filling, hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interactions. Among various agricultural waste adsorbents, Argan nut shell-microporous carbon (ANS@H20–120) exhibited highest efficiency removing BPA. Furthermore, performance magnetic treatment activated (AC) regeneration introduced. According to present study, researchers should prioritize waste-based such as ACs, highly microporous carbons, nanoparticles, polymers In particular, combination AOPs (advanced oxidations) regarded efficient method removal. series relevant studies be conducted at laboratory, pilot, scales optimizing application AC reduce or other refractory pollutants from aqueous environment.
