Microplastic (MP) pollution in agriculture is garnering growing concern due to its potential detrimental impact on soil properties and crop growth, particularly affecting staple food crops such as rice. Irrigation plays a crucial role the migration of MPs. However, limited research has focused how different irrigation modes affect MPs paddy fields. To simulate real-world conditions, this experiment, two were set: shallow–frequent (FWI, I0) controlled (CI, I1). The experiment also included treatments with without duckweed (D0 D1, respectively), well (M0 M1). This resulted total eight treatments: I0M0D0, I0M0D1, I1M0D0, I1M0D1, I0M1D0, I0M1D1, I1M1D0, I1M1D1. Our findings indicated that compared CI, FWI significantly increased MP concentration leakage but reduced numbers first layer adhered by duckweed. Notably, dry–wet cycles under CI induced cracking, concentrations cracked areas higher than those crack-free soil. Moreover, MP-free treatment, influenced rice root enhancing average diameter 13.44%, volume 46.87%, surface area 30.81%, biomass aboveground 26.13%, respectively. abundance some microorganisms was relative mobility (RM) Furthermore, length positively correlated Planctomycetota. Meanwhile, Actinobacteriota negatively area, volume, branch number, Bacteroidota number tips. further needed elucidate influence and, turn, growth.

Soil quality is an indicator of the ability to ensure ecological security and sustainable soil usage. The effects long-term straw incorporation different irrigation regimes on yield paddy fields in cold regions remain unclear. This study established four treatments: controlled + continuous for 3 years (C3), 7 (C7), flooded (F3), (F7). Analysis was conducted impact various physicochemical characteristics soil. index (SQI) rice computed using separate datasets each treatment. nitrate nitrogen, available phosphorus, organic carbon, matter contents C7 were 93.51%, 5.80%, 8.90%, 8.26% higher compared C3, respectively. In addition, treatment 5.18%, 4.89%, 10.32% than those F3, F7, validity minimum data set (MDS) verified by correlation, Ef ER, which indicated that MDS all treatments able provide a valid evaluation quality. based SQI 11.05%, 11.97%, 27.71% Overall, combined with increases regions. provides thorough assessment concerning preserve food sustainability agricultural output. Nowadays, agricultural practices require special attention due to their important contribution water pollution, the more so as they are associated with environmental and health impairments. Despite legislation addressing nutrient there still high levels of nutrients in bodies, evidenced by results identified literature. Among concern nitrogen phosphorus. When applied excess under fertilizer form, these accumulate bodies consequences such eutrophication or human impairments if is used for drinking. The purpose this review paper present current state pollution generated unsustainable practices. In addition, presented main legislative regulations quality imposed European Union, described aspects related phosphorus from agriculture, different countries. Also, effects on environment humans discussed, possible strategies that could be employed decrease prevent reviewed.

Fruit quality is crucial for nutrition and human health requires emergent cautions in contemporary agricultural techniques. Ecological farming might not be as successful conventional management systems; however, it may yield superior fruits due to reduced protection treatments. This research aimed investigate the influence of ecological practices on physicochemical properties (fruit color, weight, firmness, titratable acidity, total sugar, vitamin C), antioxidant activities, bioactive compounds (total polyphenols, anthocyanin flavonoids), macroelements composition (N, P, K), heavy metal concentration (Zn, Cd, Pb Cu) Centenar plum variety soil system under environmental conditions Romania. The analysis revealed that practice increased polyphenol content (3.26–4.52 mg GAE/g dw) activity (19.53–21.70 µm Trolox/g dw); supported healthy soils maintained or built organic carbon more substantially (56.68 Mg C ha−1). Moreover, consistent vigorous fruit colors were provided by where small (41 g) obtained compared (44 g). Among fruit, Cu had highest level (0.74–1.07 kg−1), while Cd lowest (0.003–0.007 kg−1). potential risk metals accumulation orchard their transfer (MTF) was also analyzed. Total carcinogenic (TCR) values all less than 1 (≤1), which considered a safe with no concern health. These results show received improved nutritional correspond sustainable food production through limiting resource competition.
