Abstract Background and Aims A double‐stranded DNA virus called monkeypox (MPV) belonging to the Poxviridae family Orthopoxvirus genus causes (mpox) infection. This used infect only Central, East, West Africa. However, it has spread an extent outside Africa recently. The range of MPV outbreaks was so high that on July 23, 2022, World Health Organization (WHO) declared a Public Emergency International Concern (PHEIC). About year later, WHO notified end global public health emergency for mpox May 11, 2023. Here, we aimed assess current pathogenicity potential risk causing emergencies. Methods We searched information from published articles available in PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect. monkeypox, mpox, outbreak, as keywords during literature search. Results Many new variants have emerged throughout world created PHEIC mpox. Considering low lethality transmission rate, is no longer threat. In addition, availability therapeutic preventive measures helped healthcare authorities fight infection efficient manner. this review, portrayed history evolution past present idea its future outcomes. Also, discussed symptoms related approved antiviral treatment strategies off piece. review also emphasized guidelines set by patients, caregivers, providers control outbreak Conclusion believe article would give about threats recent multi‐country taking accordingly.

The development of a rapid, simple, inexpensive, and sensitive nucleic acid assay is critical in ultrafast diagnostic systems to prevent the rapid spread novel infectious agents. However, current representative methods, such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), are bulky, expensive, complex, time-consuming. plasmonic photothermal effect materials widely used biological applications because excellent properties, strong optical properties enhanced local electromagnetic field. PCR methods using nanostructures overcome limitations conventional PCR. Therefore, photothermal-based exhibit ramping rate, amplification, high sensitivity, cost-effectiveness, compactness, which can be point-of-care device situ. Abstract The global health threat posed by the Monkeypox virus (Mpox) requires swift, simple, and accurate detection methods for effective management, emphasizing growing necessity decentralized point-of-care (POC) diagnostic solutions. clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR), initially known its nucleic acid abilities, presents itself as an attractive strategy. CRISPR offers exceptional sensitivity, single-base specificity, programmability. Here, we reviewed latest developments in CRISPR-based POC devices testing strategies Mpox detection. We explored crucial role of genetic sequencing designing crRNA reaction understanding transmission mutations. Additionally, showed integration CRISPR-Cas12 strategy with pre-amplification amplification-free methods. Our study also focused on significant Cas12 proteins effectiveness coupled recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) envision future prospects challenges, positioning CRISPR-Cas12-based a frontrunner next generation molecular biosensing technologies.

Candida auris, a multidrug-resistant yeast, poses significant challenges in healthcare settings due to its ability form biofilms and resistance common disinfectants. Understanding susceptibility biocides used hospital disinfection practices is crucial for infection control. We investigated the biocide sensitivity of eight clinical C. auris strains from different patients one reference strain (CDC B11903) using activity tests. Species identification was confirmed through MALDI-TOF MS, while clade differentiation phylogenetic classification were determined via whole-genome sequencing. Biofilm formation assessed MTT assay. Antifungal susceptibilities tested according CLSI standards. The effectiveness biocides, including chlorine, chlorhexidine, benzalkonium chloride, evaluated broth microdilution following standards quantitative suspension carrier tests, EN All identified as 1, 4, with all exhibiting biofilm formation. Clade 1 showed fluconazole, MIC values ranging 8 32 µg/ml, being susceptible other antifungals. Broth assays demonstrated that exhibited chloride. Chlorine chlorhexidine variable efficacy, dependent on concentration environmental cleanliness. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers against first minute application. study highlights C.auris underscoring challenge eradicating this pathogen environments. Our findings advocate careful selection disinfectants settings, emphasizing need high-concentration chlorine solutions combat even especially clean

Emerging antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) Candida auris presents a formidable global health challenge, causing severe healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) with high mortality rates. Its ability to colonize surfaces and resist standard disinfectants undermines traditional hygiene practices, prompting an urgent need for new strategies. Ultraviolet C (UVC) light offers promising approach rapid broad-spectrum germicidal efficacy. This review examines current literature on UVC LED technology in combating C. auris, highlighting its effectiveness, limitations, applications healthcare hygiene. has potent activity against up 99.9999% inactivation depending certain conditions such as microbial load, type of organism, surface, environmental, equipment, radiation factors. LEDs can effectively combat driving down costs reducing attributable mortality. Here, we explore implementation strategies the targeted disinfection high-risk areas air handling units (AHUs), water treatment systems. Challenges associated devices settings, performance safety are discussed. will help optimizing application protocols effective safety. Abstract Background: We conducted a quantitative analysis of the microbial burden and prevalence epidemiologically important pathogens (EIP) found on long-term care facilities (LTCF) environmental surfaces. Methods: Microbiological samples were collected using Rodac plates (25cm2/plate) from resident rooms common areas in five LTCFs. EIP defined as MRSA, VRE, C. difficile multidrug-resistant (MDR) Gram-negative rods (GNRs). Results: Rooms residents with reported colonization had much greater counts per (8.32 CFU, 95% CI 8.05, 8.60) than non-colonized (0.78 0.70, 0.86). Sixty-five percent 50% positive for at least one EIP. If was labeled by facility colonized an EIP, we only that 30% rooms. MRSA most recovered, followed MDR-GNR. Discussion: frequent contamination Colonization status strong predictor higher levels being recovered his/her room.
