Outdoor activity during class recess prevents myopia onset and shift in premyopic children: Subgroup analysis in the Recess Outside Classroom study

To
investigate
whether
premyopia
is
a
risk
factor
for
myopia
onset
and
outdoor
activities
can
protect
against
development
in
premyopic
children
the
Recess
Outside
Classroom
(ROC)
study.
Nonmyopic
schoolchildren
aged
7
to
11
years
were
recruited
from
two
schools
Taiwan.

school

ROC
program,

encouraged

outdoors
during

Background/Objectives:
Preceding
studies
have
reported
the
efficacy

multifocal
contact
lenses
(MFCLs)
in
slowing
myopia
progression.

MFCL,

depth-of-focus
(EDOF)
lens
(CL),

designed.

EDOF
CL
