Today's diet consists of a substantial proportion ultra-processed foods (UPF), especially in women with overweight and obesity the reproductive period. High UPF intake results an inadequate unbalanced leading to derangements several metabolic pathways detrimental pregnancy birth outcomes. Therefore, we aim investigate whether periconceptional period affects total homocysteine plasma levels (tHcy).

In early-life, the gut microbiota is highly modifiable, being modulated by external factors such as maternal microbiota, mode of delivery, and feeding strategies. The composition child's will deeply impact development maturation its immune system, with consequences for future health. As one main sources microorganisms to child, mother represents a crucial factor in establishment early-life impacting infant's wellbeing. Recent studies have proposed that dysbiotic could be transmitted offspring, influencing immunity, leading diseases obesity. This paper aims review recent findings system interaction highlighting benefits balanced regulation system.

Abstract Vitamin B12, a water‐soluble essential micronutrient, plays pivotal role in numerous physiological processes the human body. This review meticulously examines structural complexity and diverse mechanisms through which vitamin B12 exerts its preventive effects against spectrum of health conditions, including pernicious anaemia, neurological disorders, obesity, diabetes, dyslipidaemia complications foetal development. The selection articles for this was conducted systematic search across multiple scientific databases, PubMed, Scopus Web Science. Criteria inclusion encompassed relevance to biochemical impact on health, peer‐reviewed status publication within last decade. Exclusion criteria were non‐English studies lacking empirical evidence. stringent process ensured comprehensive analysis B12's multifaceted covering structure, bioavailable forms action. In recent years, the study of gut microbiota has gradually become a research hotspot in field medicine, as dysbiosis is closely related to various diseases. Thalassemia, hereditary hemoglobinopathy, complex pathophysiological mechanism, and traditional treatment methods show limited efficacy. With deeper understanding microbiome, researchers have begun focus on its role pathogenesis thalassemia therapeutic effects. This article aims review potential prospects, analyze latest findings, explore impact mechanisms patients with thalassemia, goal providing new ideas directions for future clinical thalassemia.

Introduction Preconceptional and maternal obesity are well-known risk factors for pregnancy fetal complications including gestational diabetes, hypertensive disorders, macrosomia. Maternal is associated with offspring increased healthcare costs. To disrupt the cycle of obesity, we aim to investigate impact composition microbiota (bacteria viruses) throughout preconception associations immune responses one-carbon metabolism (1-CM) as an underlying mechanism in pathophysiology adverse outcomes obesity. Methods analysis The PROMOTE study a subcohort Rotterdam Periconceptional Cohort, hospital-based observational cohort study. We will include 70 women per BMI group: ≥ 30 kg/m 2 or 18.5-25 , at different time points each 10 preconceptional, 50 first trimester (with longitudinal follow-up during pregnancy, delivery postpartum) third pregnancy. Which makes total 140 inclusions. Vaginal rectal bacteriome, virome, blood samples collected. In inclusions, only faecal Microbiota be analysed using 16S rRNA sequencing. Bacteriome virome profiles compared between subgroups, general 1-CM markers shown. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov ( NCT05754645 )

This study examined the effects of prebiotic and probiotic (synbiotic) supplementation on weight loss biochemical parameters in treating obesity. The was conducted with 110 participants Eskisehir Anadolu Hospital, Turkiye, between February 15, 2019 2020. Individuals obesity, who were following a diet, randomly assigned to two groups. While one group (the control group) followed diet only, other received synbiotic tablets morning evening, addition diet. Anthropometric values patients measured at beginning 3 months after. A significant decrease found weight, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference compared baseline both groups (P: .001; P < .05). fasting blood sugar HOMA-IR Furthermore, there increase vitamin B12 D receiving synbiotics their values. As result our study, experienced similar BMI that took supplements increased significantly. significantly lower groups, albeit more group. Changes B12, D, are extremely important for improving health long term.

Pregnancy involves a metabolic reprogramming that includes changes in the gut microbiota composition women. Evidence shows maternal dysbiosis is linked to neonatal dysbiosis, and this factor can determine health status adulthood. Although there little literature available on topic, high heterogeneity limitation when examining nutritional interventions. Information has been gathered contrast benefits of prebiotic usage, specifically pregnancy, its possible complications newborns’ development. The objective pursued brief narrative review provide clear summary relevant content searching with regard use prebiotics effects prenatal postnatal periods, help clinical decision-making pregnancy management lactation. A search found pregnant mother key for earliest microbial colonization newborns, thus intervention programs from could assure better outcomes both offspring. Micronutrient deficiencies or "hidden hunger" remains a serious public health problem in most low- and middle-income countries, with severe consequences for child development. Traditional methods of treatment prevention, such as supplementation fortification, have not always proven to be effective may undesirable side-effects (i.e., digestive troubles iron supplementation). Commensal bacteria the gut increase bioavailability specific micronutrients minerals), notably by removing anti-nutritional compounds, phytates polyphenols, synthesis vitamins. Together gastrointestinal mucosa, microbiota is also first line protection against pathogens. It contributes reinforcement integrity intestinal epithelium better absorption micronutrients. However, its role micronutrient malnutrition still poorly understood. Moreover, bacterial metabolism dependent acquired from environment resident compete collaborate maintain homeostasis. Gut composition can therefore modulated availability. This review brings together current knowledge on this two-way relationship between bacteria, focus iron, zinc, vitamin A folate (vitamin B9), these are concerns global context.
