Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) and acute (ALF) are severe hepatitis that occur in patients with without chronic diseases and/or cirrhosis, respectively, both often result death. Hepatitis A virus (HAV) E (HEV) infection can cause these conditions. We reviewed the role of HAV HEV, which infect humans through fecal–oral route, ALF ACLF Asian countries. Further studies needed for development vaccines antivirals against infections. Despite limitations recording cases extent specific vaccinations, multidisciplinary cooperation, involving hepatologists, virologists, experts public health, etc., may improve treatment infection.
