This paper provides an overview of the various applications bioactive compounds found in S. rosmarinus. at present. Additionally, it explores emerging technologies for its extraction, such as ultrasound, which is effective, fast, and sustainable technology obtaining these secondary metabolites from this millenary plant. rosmarinus has gained considerable importance due to beneficial properties, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, anticarcinogenic effects. This study presents a highly environmentally friendly system using natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) as an organic substitute to obtain high-quality microalgae extract, which is potential new source of moisturizing cosmetic materials. Blue-green algae Spirulina platensis was selected the alg metabolite source. Choline chloride and glycerol were used ingredients NADES owing they are commonly in products for skin and/or healing. The extraction bioactives from optimized based on multi-response optimizition Response Surface method (RSM). 3-factor 3-level Box-Behnken design implemented matrix with 17 experimental runs. best conditions attained by almost 21% (v/v) water addition into (choline chloride/glycerol, ½ molar ratio) 30 sec time under 7500 rpm mixing speed. given provided highest yields total phenolic content (10.517 mg-GAE/g-DM), antioxidant activity (1.796 mg-TEAC/g-DM) 1,2,3,4-butanetetrol (70.174%), approved satisfactory validation findings (the error < 2%). application produced gave promising valorization NADES-based metabolites additives directly formulations.

Utilizing a deep eutectic solvent-like mixture such as choline chloride and lactic acid in 1:2 molar ratio, clove buds underwent extraction. Furthermore, the determination of primary components extracts, namely eugenol, eugenol acetate, β-caryophyllene, was conducted using HPLC-DAD method. The total phenolic content (TPC) also established. Extraction conditions encompassed variables extraction temperature (within range 40 to 80 °C), water addition (ranging from 5.6 40%), time 30 90 min). Optimal operational for TPC were pinpointed at 77 °C, min, 40%. findings showed that extracts obtained 60 22.8%, min had highest amount (307.26 ± 8.44 mg/g dry raw material).

Many natural products (NPs) exhibit strong antioxidant activity, making them valuable for various applications. In this context, the emergence of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) is expected to help address growing demand innovative, efficient, and more sustainable methods NPs extraction. DESs are designer that provide higher yields enhance activity extracted phytochemicals compared with conventional volatile organic solvents. Antioxidant naturally occurring molecules can also form DESs, either as hydrogen bond donors (HBD) or acceptors (HBA), creating DES (NADES) inherent activity. Thus, containing exert synergistic effects, entire system a promising active ingredient food industry The synergy arises from enhanced solubilization stabilization in through bonding, ionic interactions, van der Waals forces. Collectively, enable effectively neutralize oxidants (such ROS free radicals) regulate their reactions other molecules, achieving up 3-fold increase extracts regular vitro.
