"Banlangen" (Isatis indigotica Fort., indigowoad root) is the dried root of a plant in Cruciferae (Brassicaceae) family, which has been cultivated China for over 2000 years. This herb significant medicinal value and played an important therapeutic role during COVID-19 pandemic. Isatis widely China, with varying seed quality across different regions. Investigating distribution endogenous metabolites from various regions great significance its efficient utilization. In this study, 21 samples seeds were collected 15 analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) liquid (LC-MS). A systematic analysis was conducted on phenotypes, germination rate, metabolites, hormones. The results showed that germplasm traits northern generally superior to those southern size positively correlated accumulation sugars (D-allose, D-(+)-cellobiose, maltitol, α-D-glucopyranoside, d-galactose, maltose, D-(-)-fructose, galactitol) organic acids (hexadecanoic acid, benzoic propanedioic butanedioic cinnamic acid). Additionally, SuQian Shanxi closely related hormone (gibberellic acid abscisic study provides valuable data support evaluation sources plants implications cultivation identification varieties.

A database of 115 bio-actives from seven subclasses, including information on retention time, parent ion m/z, fragment and isotopic fit, was established, an instrumental method for simultaneous analysis these targets optimised. An ultrasound-assisted preparation at 50 °C min with a 1:60 solid-liquid ratio, water as the solvent proposed screening unknown components antioxidant in saffron. The self-built untargeted identified 32 103 saffron, respectively. comparative revealed that capacity saffron petals superior to stigmas. Correlation multivariate statistical analyses indicated terpenoids may be main active substances stigmas, while flavonoids carboxylic acid derivatives play pivotal role conferring activity de-stigmatised serves ideal tool mining functional other agricultural products.
