Introduction
Feed
efficiency
is
a
key
factor
in
animal
production
sustainability,
directly
affecting
costs,
environmental
efficiency,
and
farmer
profitability.
The
inclusion
of
feeding
traits
cattle
breeding
programs
has
occurred
later
than
other
species
due
to
longer
life
cycles
the
high
costs
associated
with
measuring
feed
intake.
However,
genomic
selection
facilitated
difficult-to-measure
schemes.
Thus,
understanding
genetic
basis
particularly
under
varying
conditions,
essential.
Methods
This
study
aimed
identify
regions
dry
matter
intake
(DMI)
residual
(RFI)
Nellore
by
performing
genome-wide
association
(GWAS)
based
on
single-step
reaction
norm
models
that
account
for
genotype-by-environment
interactions
(G×E).
Phenotypic
data
from
23,170
young
bulls
heifers
were
collected
across
301
trials.
Genomic
windows
explaining
more
1%
total
direct
additive
variance
identified
both
intercept
slope
components
each
trait.
Results
For
RFI,
ten
eleven
explained
slope,
respectively.
DMI,
12
17
slope.
Within
these
regions,
Multiple
protein-coding
genes
annotated
(RFI:
66
47
slope;
DMI:

slope),
which
are
involved
biological
processes
such
as
insulin,
leptin,
glucose,
protein,
lipid
metabolism;
energy
balance;
heat
stress
response;
behavior;
digestion;
nutrient
absorption.
Discussion
results
highlight
functional
diversity
their
dynamic
response
variation.
While
certain
remained
central
environments,
others
specifically
important
challenging
emphasizing
role
G×E
regulating
traits.
Furthermore,
magnitude
direction
SNP
effects
varied
gradients,
reinforcing
relevance
G×E.
Consequently,
estimated
values
DMI
RFI
also
differed
between
extremes.
These
findings
underscore
adaptability
networks
changes
essential
refining
strategies
improve
cattle.

optimization

ingredients
in
livestock
production,
barley
has
garnered
significant
attention
as
a
potential
substitute
for
corn
feed.
This
study
aims
to
investigate
effects
replacing
part
and
soybean
meal
with
barley,
wheat
bran,
rapeseed
on
Wenshan
cattle,
focusing
rumen
microbial
community,
blood
physiological
biochemical
indicators,
growth
traits.
Through
an
intensive
feeding
experiment
two
different
dietary
ratios,
we
found
that
adding
diet
significantly
reduced
host's
lipid
concentration
increased
height,
body
length,
heart
girth,
average
daily
weight
gain
cattle.
Analysis
community
structure
showed
addition

relative
abundance
