With the continuous optimization of feed ingredients in livestock production, barley has garnered significant attention as a potential substitute for corn feed. This study aims to investigate effects replacing part and soybean meal with barley, wheat bran, rapeseed on Wenshan cattle, focusing rumen microbial community, blood physiological biochemical indicators, growth traits. Through an intensive feeding experiment two different dietary ratios, we found that adding diet significantly reduced host's lipid concentration increased height, body length, heart girth, average daily weight gain cattle. Analysis community structure showed addition affected relative abundance Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Spirochaetes being lower than control group (

Introduction Feed efficiency is a key factor in animal production sustainability, directly affecting costs, environmental efficiency, and farmer profitability. The inclusion of feeding traits cattle breeding programs has occurred later than other species due to longer life cycles the high costs associated with measuring feed intake. However, genomic selection facilitated difficult-to-measure schemes. Thus, understanding genetic basis particularly under varying conditions, essential. Methods This study aimed identify regions dry matter intake (DMI) residual (RFI) Nellore by performing genome-wide association (GWAS) based on single-step reaction norm models that account for genotype-by-environment interactions (G×E). Phenotypic data from 23,170 young bulls heifers were collected across 301 trials. Genomic windows explaining more 1% total direct additive variance identified both intercept slope components each trait. Results For RFI, ten eleven explained slope, respectively. DMI, 12 17 slope. Within these regions, Multiple protein-coding genes annotated (RFI: 66 47 slope; DMI: 107 109 slope), which are involved biological processes such as insulin, leptin, glucose, protein, lipid metabolism; energy balance; heat stress response; behavior; digestion; nutrient absorption. Discussion results highlight functional diversity their dynamic response variation. While certain remained central environments, others specifically important challenging emphasizing role G×E regulating traits. Furthermore, magnitude direction SNP effects varied gradients, reinforcing relevance G×E. Consequently, estimated values DMI RFI also differed between extremes. These findings underscore adaptability networks changes essential refining strategies improve cattle.

Changes in physiological and biochemical parameters are crucial for the reproductive performance health of perinatal ewes. This study investigated temporal variations feed intake, nutrient digestibility, serum parameters, ruminal fermentation on days 21, 14, 7 before lambing (Q21, Q14, Q7) 3, 7, 14 after (H3, H7, H14). The results showed that dry matter intake (DMI) glucose (Glu) gradually decreased (
