This study aims to determine the morphometric comparison and identify abnormal sperm morphology in six types of Indonesian local chickens. Sperm observed came from chickens: red jungle fowl, Sentul chicken, Gaga’ Kampung Unggul Balitnak (KUB) Arab Silver Bangkok chicken. Semen was collected by sequencing technique, then fresh semen blotted on glass slides with eosin-nigrosine dye. Morphometrics were using a light microscope magnification 100x16. ImageJ software used for observation 60 cells, while morphological observations carried out counting normal 200 cells. The results showed that there variations size among Red fowl had higher total length tail than Sentul, Gaga', KUB, Arab, Observation characteristics highest gaga' Tail bending mid-piece is most common abnormalities found

The aim of the study was to compare morphometric features sperm head size and shape from Pietrain line Duroc × boar crossbred terminal lines, evaluate their relationship with reproductive success after artificial insemination sows produced crossbreeding York, Landrace breeds. Semen samples were collected 11 sexually mature boars. Only ejaculates greater than 70% motility rate <15% abnormal used for inseminations (AI) included in study. Samples analyzed using an ISAS®v1 computer-assisted analysis system eight parameters (CASA-Morph). Sub-populations characterized multivariate procedures, such as principal component (PC) clustering methods (k-means model). Four different ejaculate sub-populations identified two PCs that involved spermatozoa. discriminant ability variables predict sow litter a receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve analysis. Sperm length, ellipticity, elongation, regularity showed significant predictive capacity on (0.59, 0.59, 0.60, 0.56 area under (AUC), respectively). not related size.

Antimicrobial resistance is an increasing challenge in semen preservation of breeding animals, especially the porcine species. Bacteria are a natural component semen, and their growth should be inhibited to protect sperm fertilizing capacity female’s health. In pig breeding, where routinely stored at 17°C liquid state, alternatives conventional antibiotics urgently needed. Photodynamic inactivation (PDI) bacteria well-established tool medicine food industry but this technology has not been widely adopted preservation.
