Under the requirements of “double carbon” goal and new development concept high-quality development, coordinated promotion pollution, carbon reduction, is significant in promoting social economy’s comprehensive green transformation. The coupling coordination degree between 110 cities Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2010 to 2021 was measured, modified gravity model network analysis were then employed assess spatial characteristics, patterns, structure evolution. results indicated that urban clusters showed an increasing pattern, arrangement shifted dispersed centralized. linkage strength potential increased, while pattern steady. direction connectivity remained consistent, with central city orientation geographical proximity. overall characterized by increased density number links within each cluster, effectiveness fluctuated decreased. predominance or developed individual characteristics. This study great significance for exploring pollution providing a theoretical basis implementing ecological civilization, neutrality, regional achieving green, low-carbon, sustainable development.

In the context of growing challenges associated with pollution prevention and control, developing more efficient technologies precise policy measures to address bottleneck period is imperative. This study utilized daily electricity consumption data from nine prefecture-level cities in Fujian Province January 2019 June 2024 develop a high-quality development index (HQDI) empirically investigate how HQDI affects decoupling economic growth emissions. Results suggest that can significantly promote decoupling, innovation, openness, sharing playing positive roles, while brown industries’ capacity installation small micro-enterprises hinder these processes. Moreover, extreme high temperatures exert significant negative impact on whereas increased market concentration fosters decoupling. Policy recommendations include prioritizing green technologies, energy efficiency (particularly for SMEs); addressing climate resilience; expanding factors like digital sustainable similar regions.

Climate issues significantly impact people’s lives, prompting governments worldwide to implement energy-saving and emission-reducing measures. However, many areas lack carbon emission data at the lower administrative divisions. Additionally, inconsistency in standards, scope, accuracy of dioxide statistics across different regions makes mapping spatial patterns complex. Nighttime light (NTL) combined with land use enable detailed temporal disaggregation a finer level, facilitating scientifically informed policy formulation by government. Differentiating sector will help us further identify efficiency sectors environmental regulators most cost-effective emission-reduction strategy. This study uses integrated remote-sensing estimate emissions from fossil fuels (CEFs). Experimental results indicate (1) that regional CEF can be calculated combining NTL Landuse has good fit; (2) high-intensity area is mainly concentrated Shanghai its surrounding areas, showing concentric circle structure; (3) there are obvious differences distribution characteristics among departments; (4) hot spot analysis reveals three-tiered Yangtze River Delta, increasing west east distinct characteristics.

Cities encounter increasing risks and challenges under new development patterns, digital economy (DE) can drive cities’ improved resilience to natural social uncertainties. Based on data collected the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2011 2021, situation of regional DE urban (UR) was measured, impact mechanisms UR were analysed theoretically empirically using a benchmark regression model. The findings are as follows: test revealed that contributed significantly in region. mediating effect through two pathways: industrial structure upgradation energy restructuring. moderating suggested environmental pollutant emissions had negative between DE, structure, effects UR, whereas CO2 positive structure. Heterogeneity analysis indicated positively except upstream region, where coefficient insignificant.
