Urban greenways are pivotal in enriching urban quality and fostering socio-ecological sustainability. Previous studies on greenway networks have often overlooked user-based experience efficiency, leading to the underutilization insufficient translation of cultural services into human well-being. In this study, we introduce a user behavior-driven assessment framework for planning multifunctional that connect parks with high green space exposure maximize recreational mobility. Beijing’s built-up areas (BBUA) were selected as case study area. Firstly, evaluated 331 BBUA using an integrated “Availability–Accessibility–Adaptability” potential carriers. Then, through spatially explicit workflows least-cost path methodology, leveraged vast dataset 70 million public transportation swipe records optimize alignment greenways, prioritizing criterion maximizing footfalls. The results showed network spans 1566.36 km BBUA, encompassing 93.88% offering six diverse functions. It can serve 34.39–35.92% bus recreation passengers, ratio tending be higher weekends. However, identified obstacle points (non-greenway sections) based residents’ view perceptions panoramic street images, primarily located densely central along southern trunk roads. By addressing these disconnections, integrity connectivity will improved. Overall, present used construct perceived accessibility bus-based visitors, valuable implications sustainable regeneration initiatives.
