Abstract
Background
A
sense
of
hope
plays
an
important
role
in
relieving
stress
and
psychological
distress
cardiology
patients,
as
well
improving
their
physical
well‐being.
Aim
The
aim
this
study
is
to
investigate
the
correlation
between
death
anxiety,
loneliness
levels
patients
receiving
treatment
a
cardiac
intensive
care
unit
(ICU).
Design
This
prospective,
descriptive
correlational
study.
Methods
was
completed
with
150
ICU
Istanbul,
Turkey.
data
were
collected
using
Patient
Information
Form,
Templer
Death
Anxiety
Scale
(TDAS),
Herth
Hope
Index
(HHI)
UCLA
Loneliness
(UCLA‐LS).
Results
had
mean
age
63.56
±
12.74
years.
Most
(82%)
treated
for
heart
failure.
There
statistically
significant
positive
total
scores
TDAS
UCLA‐LS
(
r
=
.337;
p
<
.001)
negative
HHI
−.292;
.001).
Also,
there
Positive
Readiness
Expectancy
Subscale
−.164;
.044).
multiple
linear
regression
indicated
that
model
