Objective: This study explores the relationship between parental psychological control (PPC) and autonomy support (PAS) in Chinese college students discusses role of self‐differentiation (SD) as a mediator two. Methods: Through convenience sampling, data analysis, structural equation modeling, questionnaire survey is administered to sample 1377 (17–24 years age, 48.4% female, 22% without siblings), including an SD scale, PAS questionnaire, PPC questionnaire. Results: exhibited strong negative ( r = 0.583, p < 0.01) with substantial positive 0.463, SD. Meanwhile, had significant 0.134, PAS. The showed masking effect on PAS, indirect value 0.08. predictive this masked or inhibited by students. emotional responses (ERs) interpersonal integration effect, while self‐positioning (SP) disconnection (ED) mediating values 0.06, 0.04, −0.13, −0.03, respectively. Conclusion: negatively predicts indirectly through students’ From perspective family system theory, confirms importance for strategy optimization provides more scientific effective strategies guidance future education.

Abstract Background A positive school climate benefits adolescents in multiple developmental dimensions. However, theoretical frameworks suggest that detrimental parenting practices can trigger adolescents’ negative emotional states, which may skew their perceptions of climate. Although self-consciousness, a critical intrapersonal trait, mitigate these adverse effects, limited research has empirically explored its moderating role the context where influences mental health and school-related outcomes. Thereby, this study investigates how parental control perceived via depression, with self-consciousness link between depression. Methods short-term longitudinal design was employed, data collected from sample Chinese (N T1 = 733, N T2 =711). Self-reports were used to measure control, depressive symptoms, Structural equation modeling conducted assess mediating effect depression self-consciousness. Results The findings show mediates relationship Adolescents experiencing higher levels reported more associated lower Self-consciousness moderates exhibiting showing less vulnerability effects control. Conclusions This reveals impact on while highlighting protective Interventions target families engaged maladaptive psychopathological focusing enhancing family dynamics self-processes.
