An important area for tackling climate change and health improvement is reducing population meat consumption. Traffic light labelling has successfully been implemented to reduce the consumption of unhealthy foods sugary drinks. The present research extends this work selection. We tested 1,300 adult UK consumers (with quotas age gender approximate a nationally representative sample). Participants were randomised into one four experimental groups: (1) red traffic label with text 'High Climate Impact' displayed on meal options only; (2) green 'Low vegetarian vegan (3) red/orange/green (ROG) labels relevant meals; (4) control (no present). made selections within their group across 20 trials. A beta-regression was performed ascertain in primary outcome (proportion meals selected trials) different groups. red-only ROG significantly reduced proportion compared unlabelled group, by 9.2% 9.8% respectively. green-only did not differ from control. Abstract Meat consumption is growing steadily. As with any research, meat investigation requires an overall view of the study field to identify current directions and reveal prospective trends. The number publications on research steadily reaching several thousand per year. This creates difficulties in covering all available information forces researchers increasingly limit themselves narrow issues their direction. We analysed main trends published recently ten years ago. identified areas based abstracts articles word “meat” title Web Science database time intervals 2000–2003, 2010–2013 2020–2023. also mapped terms from directly related using VOSviewer OpenAlex application programming interface. Meat consumption has an adverse impact on both human and planetary health. To date, very few studies have examined the effectiveness of interventions tackling overconsumption meat in field settings. The present research addresses this gap by examining gain-framed labelling communicating environmental consequences consumption, using a multiple treatment reversal design across two university college dining halls over period five weeks. In College A intervention weeks consisted text-only or text-and-image labels B patrons were exposed to either health (gain-framed; combining images text). total 13,869 (6,577 7,292 B) meals (dishes) analysed interest. Beta-binomial regressions found no statistically significant periods compared baseline B. number meal type options emerged as only consistent predictor models colleges: decreased with increase non-meat options. post-study survey (College A: n = 88; B: 53) revealed that perceived bearing text more informative influential at changing behaviour other interventions, although did not translate into change behaviour.
