Food production, particularly meat consumption, poses severe environmental challenges, including greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, water depletion, and nutrient runoff. Despite the urgency of reducing traditional norms cultural values reinforce its centrality in Western diets, limiting effectiveness campaigns. This study examines underexplored role individual shaping responses to NGO campaigns promoting sustainable consumption. Analyzing data from 514 respondents across five European countries with diverse national cultures, research highlights significant influence three values: power distance, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance. These were found diminish emphasizing degradation animal welfare. The findings contribute literature on food behaviors by underscoring unique dynamics involved consumption at level. Practical recommendations are offered NGOs, policymakers, managers for tailoring address nuances drive dietary transitions.
