Abstract In general, the most important method of energy storage at power plant scale is pumped hydro method, which has been developed in two main models to improve its performance, combined with compressed gas (PHCCG) and closed towers (PHWT). this research, answer these methods more suitable, form a case study, both systems were designed store generated Aghkand wind farm nominal 50 (MW), performance was completely compared each other. The findings indicated that efficiency PHWT higher, but on other hand, water requirement PHCCG much lower than method. Also, an innovative way, system presented combination different classes investigated. Finally, by combining systems, new hybrid (HPHWTCG) proposed. By using system, advantages can be used same time disadvantages eliminated great extent. 65 % 45 respectively. HPHWTCG between values based structure.
