Abstract Activated carbon (AC) and ZnO@AC composite derived from wood sawdust were prepared to be utilized as adsorbents for methyl red (MR) orange (MO) anionic dyes the aqueous solutions. The maximum adsorption capacity of AC toward both was achieved in strong acidic medium (pH = 3), under stirring 60 min. kinetic studies revealed that MR MO onto fitted well with pseudo-second-order model. Furthermore, intraparticle diffusion Elovich models confirmed is controlled by external surfaces, chemisorption process. isotherm results indicated dye occurred via monolayer adsorption, estimated capacities higher than those AC. Thermodynamic analysis suggested endothermic spontaneous. mechanism MR, proposed electrostatic bonding, π–π interactions, ion exchange, while H-bonding n–π interactions minor contributors. This study reveals potential use carbon-based removal wastewater.

In the current work, rice husk (RH) biomass was pyrolyzed using tartaric acid as an activating agent to produce activated carbon (AC). For 60 min, procedure run at 700 °C and 5 L/min of nitrogen (N2) flow rate. The study used response surface methodology (RSM) a 3-level Box-Behnken design (BBD) optimize extraction efficiency (RHAC) in eliminating reactive orange 16 (RO16) dye from aqueous solution. Different process parameters, such pH (2–12), RHAC dose (0.04 – 0.14 g), time (60-240 min), were chosen part optimization method. When solution's 2, adsorbent dosage 0.09 g, contact 240 maximum amount removal (53%) achieved. This work demonstrates ability use abundant create carbon, which can be effectively remove organic dyes.

Abstract Carbon doped ZnO nanoparticles have been synthesized from the thermal decomposition of Zinc citrate precursor.
