This study aims to evaluate the potential benefits and challenges of integrating oral microbiome research into clinical management potentially malignant disorders (OPMD) squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The has gained significant attention for its role in pathogenesis progression these conditions, with emerging evidence suggesting value as a diagnostic prognostic tool. By critically analyzing current methodological considerations, this manuscript examines whether analysis biopsy samples can aid early detection, prognosis, OPMD OSCC. complexity dynamic nature require multifaceted approach fully understand utility. Based on review, we conclude that studying context holds promise but also faces notable challenges, including variability need standardization. Ultimately, addresses question, “Should such be undertaken, given intricate interactions various factors inherent obstacles involved?”, emphasizes importance further optimize applications improve patient outcomes.

Background Colorectal cancer is the third most prevalent across globe. Despite a diversity of treatment methods, recurrence and mortality rates disease remain high. Recent studies have revealed close association gut microbiota with occurrence, development, response, prognosis colorectal cancer. Objective This study aims to integrate transcriptome microbiome data identify subtypes associated different evaluate their roles in patient survival prognosis, tumor microenvironment (TME), drug response. Methods An integrated analysis was conducted on samples from public databases. Based this, two (C1 C2) closely were identified risk score model constructed. The status, clinical parameters, immune scores, other features analyzed in-depth, sensitivity various potential drugs examined. Results A thorough examination information obtained patients led identification primary clusters C2), exhibiting notable variations outcomes. Patients C1 subtype better while those C2 had higher microbial richness poorer prognosis. predictive utilizing developed accurately forecast outcome TME scores provided biological basis for assessment high-risk (similar subtype) cohorts. Evaluation drugs, indicated critical importance personalized treatment. Further showed good risk-scoring predicting checkpoint functions response patients, which may be crucial guiding selection immunotherapy strategies Conclusion study, through comprehensive microbiome, microenvironment, sensitivity, enhances current understanding multidimensional interactions provides important indications improving future strategies. findings offer new perspective long-term CRC regulation or utilization biomarkers by it.
