Summary Organic matter application is a widely used practice to increase soil carbon content and maintain fertility. However, little known about the effect of different types organic matter, or input exogenous species from these materials, on fungal communities. In this study, community composition was characterized soils amended with three over 30‐year fertilization experiment. Chemical significantly changed structure, which exacerbated by addition direction change influenced type used. The increased richness, greatest richness achieved in pig manure. Importantly, following cow manure, taxa associated materials could be found soil, suggesting that can augment composition. Moreover, decreased relative abundance potential pathogenic fungi. Understanding the effects of external organic and inorganic components on soil fertility quality is essential for improving low-yielding soils. We conducted a field study over two consecutive rice growing seasons to investigate effect applying chemical fertilizer (NPK), NPK plus green manure (NPKG), pig (NPKM), straw (NPKS) nutrient status, enzyme activities involved in C, N, P, S cycling, microbial community yields yellow clayey soil. Results showed that fertilized treatments significantly improved first three experimental seasons. Compared with treatment, amendments produced more favorable productivity. Notably, NPKM treatment exhibited highest levels availability, biomass carbon (MBC), most enzymes community. This resulted index (SQI) yield, indicating better quality. The present paper reviews the most recent advances regarding effects of chemical and organic fertilizers on soil microbial communities. Based results from articles considered, some details are presented how use various types affects composition activity Soil microbes have different responses to fertilization based differences in total carbon (C), nitrogen (N) phosphorus (P) contents soil, along with moisture presence plant species.
