Mangrove forests are salt-tolerant intertidal vegetation in tropical and subtropical areas. ecosystems provide commercial products, valuable fisheries, aquaculture resources, protect stabilize coastlines, important carbon sinks. However, they threatened globally by human activities such as deforestation, pollution, development causing fragmentation between the well-preserved, restored, disturbed mangrove forests. Despite this, mangroves can adapt strive well notable associated with microbial diversity. Here, we investigate diversity of microbes different environmental settings using preferred reporting items for systematic meta-analyses (PRISMA) analysis publications from Scopus Web Science databases. We report since 1987, observed an exponential increase beginning year 2000, which may be molecular sequencing technologies. Differences bacterial was across environments. Disturbed had a higher (70 unique taxon orders reported) compared to well-preserved (33 restored (38 reported). Based on our analysis, found that community plays role survival adaptability under varying conditions. Mangrove restoration by exotic mangrove species Sonneratia apetala has been practiced as a strategy to reconstruct wetlands. Diazotrophs in sediment are nitrogen suppliers for ecosystems. However, the response of diazotrophs, especially their fixation rates, introduction S. remains unclear. In present study, we compared variations physicochemical properties, N2 rate, and composition total bacterial diazotrophic communities sediments between (S. apetala) three native (i.e., Aegiceras corniculatum, Lumnitzera racemosa, Rhizophora apiculata). Our results indicated that significantly (P < 0.05) increased nutrient levels (including TC, TN, TS) improved rate sediments. Though had not caused significant changes alpha diversity, community structure were altered. The dominant groups sulfur-oxidizing (SOB) sulfate-reducing (SRB) bacteria. relative abundance Chromatiaceae (affiliated with SOB) 0.05), while Desulfuromonadaceae SRB) decreased addition, several SOB SRB identified putative keystone taxa network analysis, suggesting SOB/SRB potentially played central role biogeochemical cycles involving (N) sulfur (S) ecosystem.
