In nature, melatonin is widely distributed, and not only does it play a vital role for animals humans, but also plants. Plants use wide range of purposes, including preventing senescence, acting as an antioxidant, regulating growth development, adjusting to stressful conditions. Fruits vegetables contain naturally, its presence greatly influences the ripening post-harvest processes. As result increasing activity antioxidant enzymes, non-enzymatic antioxidants, enzymes involved in repairing oxidized proteins, effective reducing reactive oxygen species levels fruits vegetables. Exogenous can increase endogenous levels, enhancing effects on variety physiological has been shown improve preservation several studies. While transgenic methods could potentially be used overproduce plants preservation, current attempts are limited Recent advances understanding melatonin's mechanisms summarized this review. Additionally, provides insights into future approaches maximizing fruit vegetable post-harvest. Research area lead innovative strategies food losses improving quality after harvest.

Although aboveground biodiversity has been extensively studied, the impact of nutrient enrichment on soil microbial populations remains unclear. Soil microorganisms serve as important indicators in shaping cycling processes and are typically sensitive to additions. For this, we employed a factorial combination design examine additions composition function bacteria temperate steppe. Nitrogen addition promoted growth copiotrophic (Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Bacteroidota) but inhibited oligotrophic (Acidobacteria, Chloroflexi, Verrucomicrobiota). Phosphorus alleviated phosphorus deficiency, resulting decrease abundance phoD-harboring (Actinobacteria Proteobacteria). Significant enhancement bacterial alpha diversity was observed only treatments with added phosphorus. Changes NO

ABSTRACT Intercropping significantly affects soil microbial communities and nutrient content; however, the influence of intercropping with fertilizer application on them has yet to be elucidated. A pot experiment was performed three planting patterns: P (poplar monoculture; Populus deltoides ), S (soybean Glycine max ) PS (poplar–soybean intercropping), rates 0, 5, 10 g (10 kg per pot). The properties fungal community under different treatments were analyzed. Planting patterns influenced communities. pattern exhibited higher organic matter (SOM), total nitrogen (TN), phosphorus (TP), potassium (TK), ammonium (NH 4 + ‐N) contents; greater urease (UR) sucrase (SUR) activities; diversity than did patterns. Soil nitrate (NO 3 − ‐N), available ‐N, AP), (AK) contents, UR, SUR increased a rate, highest values occurring in treatment. Structural equation modeling revealed that affected nutrients by altering enzyme activity. water content NO ‐N dominant factors affecting ( p < 0.05). decreases relative abundance pathogenic fungi increases related SOM transformation utilization efficiency. In conclusion, these findings emphasize importance poplar quality, providing guidance for selection management agriculture improve quality.

The agricultural production space, as where and how much each product grows, plays a vital role in meeting the increasing diverse food demands. Previous studies on patterns have predominantly centered individual or specific crop types, using methods such remote sensing statistical metrological analysis. In this study, we characterize space (APS) by bipartite network connecting products provinces, to reveal relatedness between spatiotemporal characteristic of provincial capabilities China. results show that core are cereal, pork, melon, pome fruit; meanwhile milk, grape, fiber an upward trend centrality, which is line with diet structure changes China over past decades. little community components structures provinces relatively stable. Additionally, identified communities closely resemble China's natural zones. Furthermore, observed growth North Northeast implies their potential focus areas for future production. Despite superior southern recent years witnessed notable decline, warranting special attentions. findings provide comprehensive perspective understanding complex relationship products' relatedness, patterns, serve reference spatial optimization sustainable development.
